1. Office Assistant & Planting Crew Member
Description: Support the Office team as needs change with the season. Areas you’ll be working in include, sales, customer service, bookkeeping, logistics and data management. To balance work in the office, you will often join the crew in the greenhouses: planting, transplanting, pulling orders for shipping and other miscellaneous seasonally directed tasks.
This position is full-time in the Spring (February-June) and is flexible part-time to full-time the rest of the year.
Qualifications: You must be familiar with Microsoft Office and be comfortable with learning our greenhouse specific software, SBI. You must be able to physically work in the greenhouse in activities that require lifting, bending, walking and standing. We are looking for someone who enjoys a collaborative style workplace, in which your voice and opinion matters and someone who is a quick learner, prioritizes tasks to support the big picture and can take direction as needed. A love of plants, a sense of humor, sustainability ethics are assets for joining the progressive culture of Rush Creek Growers.
Hourly Pay commensurate to experience.
2. Maintenance Person
Description: Part of a team who keeps the mechanics and structures of the 24 Greenhouses and work area at Rush Creek Growers safe, efficient and running smoothly. When maintenance tasks aren’t demanded you would join the greenhouse crew in plant related tasks. There is also the option to do truck deliveries.
Full-time in the spring (February to June) flexible part-time to full-time the rest of the year.
Qualifications: The job requires a breadth of experience fixing things in the agricultural setting from water-lines to equipment to structures. As a member of a team, your specific job will be crafted around your strengths. We are looking for someone who enjoys problem solving, is creative, resourceful, independent and can shift tasks easily. Medium size truck driving experience is a plus. Being comfortable in a progressive, woman-run workplace is essential.
Hourly Pay commensurate to experience.
3. Seasonal Drivers
Description: Deliver orders to customers in Wisconsin and the Twin Cities area. You will keep track of orders as you go, deliver paperwork and communicate with staff at each delivery location. You will drive 18 or 26 foot box trucks with lift-gates and load and unload tall carts full of plants at our customers' retail nurseries. We are looking for part-time drivers for 8 to 10 weeks end of March to early June.
Qualifications: You must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Keeping track or orders, You will need to be able to roll and push heavy carts on to a lift-gate and in and out of the truck. You are the face of our company to our customers so an easy, friendly, welcoming manner is an important part of the job. This is a great job for anyone looking for a short, fun, working stint in a healthy, lively workplace.
