Rain or shine, training never stops.
Despite yesterday’s wet weather, C Platoon was on the training ground sharpening skills, strengthening teamwork, and preparing for the moments when we are needed.
Emergencies don’t wait for perfect conditions, and neither do we. Every drill and every challenge helps ensure we’re ready to respond when it matters most.

This week, several of our crew members attended an intensive Aircraft
Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) class at the Northwest Arkansas National
Airport (XNA).

The training combined classroom instruction with hands-on drills focusing
on aircraft emergencies, specialized firefighting tactics, rescue
operations, and coordinated airport incident response. Continuous,
specialized training like this ensures our team stays sharp and ready to
respond safely and effectively to any emergency situation.

A huge thank you to the instructors and staff for delivering an
outstanding learning experience!

The Springdale Fire Department answered the call — even at the bowling alley! This year, when Springdale PD didn't field a team for the Springdale Chamber Bowling Tournament, SFD stepped up to represent our public safety family.

Our team, "Not Cops," may not have had any law enforcement to bowl against, but we still managed to bring home the Best Dressed Team award. We're not saying they were scared to lose, but we'll give them another chance. We'll settle it soon at the Boots vs. Badges Blood Drive.

Two members of the Springdale Fire Department recently traveled to San Antonio, Texas, to participate in SAREX 2026 (Search and Rescue Exercise) as part of the Arkansas Helicopter Rescue Team (AHRT).

AHRT is a specialized team comprised of personnel from the Springdale, Fayetteville, and Rogers Fire Departments, working alongside the Arkansas Air National Guard. Throughout the week, participants trained in a variety of realistic rescue scenarios involving helicopter operations, search missions, and technical rescue techniques.

Exercises like SAREX help ensure rescue personnel remain prepared to respond to complex emergencies, natural disasters, and rescue incidents throughout Arkansas and the surrounding region.

Training opportunities like this provide valuable experience that cannot be replicated in a classroom setting. By working alongside partner agencies and practicing in challenging environments, firefighters continue to build the skills, teamwork, and confidence needed to serve their communities and assist with specialized rescue operations whenever they are needed.
