🦃 Watching Over What Matters Most 🕵️‍♂️ .. The very first Thanksgiving back in 1621 wasn’t fancy.

No football. No Wi-Fi. No “one more trip” to the grocery store.

It was neighbors coming together after a hard year, sharing a harvest, and feeling just a little more secure about the future because they had each other’s backs.

🛡️ Position Summary:
PELTA Protective Specialists is seeking female Entry Control Point (ECP) Security Professionals to join our event security team at a high-profile private venue in Yellow Springs, Ohio. This position involves pat-down searches and metal detection screening of female guests only at the venue’s entry checkpoint. Due to the nature of these duties, this position is restricted to female applicants only, in accordance with the Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) exemption under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

This is a uniformed, unarmed role ideal for professionals who are calm under pressure, vigilant, and comfortable with close-contact search responsibilities. Officers will operate under the direction of the ECP Lead and will be responsible for upholding safety, privacy, and professionalism at the venue’s main entrance.

✅ Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough and respectful pat-down searches of female guests only
- Use handheld wands to scan for prohibited items or concealed electronics
- Identify and report contraband, weapons, or policy violations
- Serve as a professional first point of contact at guest entry
- Communicate effectively via radio with ECP Lead and Command Staff
- Remain alert and observant at all times—no leaning, sitting, or distractions
- Document security incidents as directed
- Enforce venue policies with firmness and courtesy

📋 Minimum Requirements:
- Female applicants only (BFOQ – duties involve same-sex physical searches)
- Must be comfortable conducting physical pat-downs
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Smartphone required for scheduling and communications
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and work outdoors.
- Ability to bend over for full screening.
- Must pass Ohio BCI fingerprint-based background check
- Criminal history may disqualify candidates, depending on severity and offense date.

🌟 Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in security, guest screening, or crowd management
- Familiarity with wanding, pat-down procedures, or venue access control
- Experience with radio communications and incident documentation
- Background in military, law enforcement, or live-event operations a plus

🎽 Uniform Requirements:
The following attire is mandatory for all ECP Officers:
- Solid black suit jacket
- Solid white button-up dress shirt
- Solid black dress pants
- Solid black dress shoes

Employees must present a clean, professional appearance while on duty. Hairstyles must be neat and conservative, and hair dyed in unnatural colors (e.g., blue, green, purple) is not permitted. Visible Tattoos may be a disqualifier. Certain piercings may also be a disqualifier. This policy is enforced equally across all roles and genders to maintain the professional image required for guest-facing positions.

Applicants must arrive in full uniform and maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance at all times.

📆 Schedule & Availability:
- Average of 6-8 events a month, but some months see more. Opportunities for other temporary uniformed work in addition.
- Shifts typically occur evenings and weekends
- Flexibility and reliability are critical to success in this role

WHY WE CELEBRATE VETERANS DAY ON NOVEMBER 11th at 11:11 AM

Veterans' Day honors all members of the Armed Forces who served this country valiantly, and in a very big way. They served and fought to protect us, to keep our country safe, and to preserve our way of life. Veterans gave their time and risked their lives for you and me. In some cases, they made the ultimate sacrifice.

This holiday originally was called Armistice Day and was first celebrated in 1921. In 1954, President Eisenhower changed it to Veteran's Day, in honor of those who served and died from all wars.

On November 11 at 11:11, 1921 the U.S. France, and England each buried an unknown soldier in honor of those who died in World War I. This began the annual Armistice Day holiday. The time and day were picked because fighting ceased in WWI in 1918 on November 11 at 11:11. In keeping with this tradition, work stops on this day and time each year for a moment of silence.

Summary: PRN (Pro Re Nata - As Needed) position, with the possibility of Full Time after the probationary period. Third Shift Availability is a must.

Details:
PELTA Protective Specialists is seeking officers to assist in covering third-shift retail/construction/commercial sites. These sites are typically 8-14 hours, and their frequency is based on the client's needs such as repairs/remodels, alarms/fire systems, etc. Other sites with first and second shifts may be available but are not as frequent. The ideal candidate will have mostly third-shift availability.

Requirements:
* HSD/GED
* 18 Years of Age for unarmed, 21 years of age for Armed
* OPOTA & OH CHL For Armed (CHL alone only does not count, OH CHL is still required despite constitutional carry.)
* Must be able to pass a Drug Test

Certifications Seeking (In-House Training Offered):
* OC (Sabre)
* Baton (ASP)
* Handcuffing (ASP)
* CEW (Taser)
* Crisis Intervention
* FA/CPR/AED (Red Cross)
* Stop The Bleed (ACS COT)

These certifications are not required but are determining factors when picking a candidate. Please note PELTA has in-house instructors for AXON, Sabre, ASP, Red Cross, etc, and these certifications can be obtained by employees of PELTA during the course of employment.

Pay is determined based on many factors, including Armed vs Unarmed, location worked, experience, certifications, flexibility in scheduling, etc.

It is with deep regrets that we inform you of the passing of Stephanie Reeves, PELTA's first employee.

Stephanie holds a special place to me, as she was my boss at the previous agency I used to work for. Stephanie wasn't just my boss though. She mentored me in the security field, and was constantly was teaching me how to be a better Security Officer, and eventually, an efficient supervisor. As time went on, the skills she taught me translated over into the Private Investigation side that I also was dipping my toes into, which sparked my interest in becoming a Private Investigator in the first place.

After years of her mentorship, and encouragement, she also gave me the push to start PELTA, stating that she would love to help build us up to the company she knew we could be.

Stephanie helped us grow, not only by working our first post, but also by bringing us our Lieutenant, Robin Parson, who has also been a tremendous help to the growth of our company. Without Stephanie, who knows if our paths would have crossed.

I will never forget the post I worked with her, all the fun and crazy talks, and all the wisdom she has given me. She will be truly missed, but her teachings and more will continue to be a part of who I am, and what our company is.

Rest in peace, Stephanie.

1099 POSITION - NOT HOURLY

We are looking for an Evidence Technician in the Akron and surrounding area to copy CCTV footage from our client's DVRs, in order to preserve video evidence of incidents onto our servers, to assist in potential civil litigation.

This position involves the following steps:
1) Arrive at the provided store, and identify yourself to management. They will es**rt you to the office.
2) Determine which DVR is present, and follow proper guidelines to access the DVRs archives.
3) Enter the correct date and time, and burn the footage to a USB drive.
4) Wait for the file to transfer over. After a successful burn, take a photo of documentation with Store Number present on it.
5) Return home, and upload the video to our servers.

On 90% of these files, Steps 1-4 are completed in less than 15 minutes, although some files may take up to 30-45 minutes. Once you have initiated the upload to our servers, you may walk away from your computer and let it finish in the background.

These files are to be completed within 7 days of assignment. You may set your own schedule, as long as file deadlines are met. Failure to complete within 7 business days, may lead to lower rate. Failure to pull the correct dates/times will result in the technician having to return to the store.

Each file pays $30-100, depending on the county it is in, in relation to your residence. It is common practice to complete multiple files in one day, to maximize efficiency, and profitablity. This is a 1099 position, which allows you to claim $0.56 per mile per 2021 IRS rates. Evidence Technician is responsible for tracking of their own mileage.

This position is perfect for someone currently working in the Security, Loss Prevention, or other fields in which the technician has experience with CCTV DVR systems.

We are looking for an Unarmed Security Officer to cover a retail location 1900-0000. Must have a working phone, vehicle, and a semi-regular schedule. This position is available 7 days a week, and the ideal candidate will be able to take at least 3 days a week. This contract is in place until mid-January, but is expected to be reinstated. Candidates with certificates on less-lethal (i.e., OC, Baton, Taser, Handcuffing, FA/CPR, etc...) will have priority.

The fourth of July is the birthday of our nation. Today, we celebrate and enjoy the freedom that comes with the event that made this day so special.

Did you know? The Declaration of Independence was not signed by all representatives until August 1776. To make it official, John Hancock, President of the Continental Congress signed it. Now, can anyone guess where the saying "put your John Hancock on it" came from!?!

Today, we enjoy the benefits of the freedom which the framers signed and ultimately fought for. For us, it is a time for baseball, hot dogs, and family picnics. COVID-19 has put a damper on a lot of our plans, but summer is in full swing and life is still good.
