2026 Missouri spring turkey season… that’s the one.. that’s the one that re-lit the fire for traditional bow hunting.. between friends pushing me to get back into traditional, the many people and memories made with the farmer AND their neighbors! There’s so much more but words really don’t do it justice and never could to me.. I will say this, though there is something absolutely magical that happens whenever you pick up traditional gear and respect your limits and nature. For most, that’s usually 15yrds and in.. that means due to the limited range and the fact they have a say also in the matter…. If you can pull off sitting still enough until the ride opportunity presents itself you will not only leave the woods with a turkey and food that day but often times several minutes of up close and personal truly intimate moments with these wild creatures that I have grown to love so much! This is my 10th spring turkey season and to go from year one chasing them with a compound bow the whole year and not even getting a shot too fast forward 10 years later and I have filled both tags with traditional gear in a true fair chase fashion. I’m not usually one for numbers, but man did the dirty 30 hit me in in my heart… I would like to think my grandpa would be proud as I remember running around with his old recurve many years ago….. I’ve come along way since the beginning, and I’ve been blessed beyond any measurable standard and belief, and forever grateful!
