It’s always a privilege to share my experience publicly
But this one was different…
My journey of recovery began with attending detox, stabilization and long term treatment within the continuum of care offered at Bhn.
A story that started with misguided entrepreneurial skills developed into a full fledge progressively growing addiction to multiple substances. After quite a few attempts to stop I finally took the advice of a loving mother who said - why don’t you go to further treatment?
I’d heard this question before but I didn’t understand the disease I was dealing with and always had a reason to ask for one more chance to come home and get my life together.
It never worked out.
I was able to get the care I needed and had an experience that’s too long to detail in a single post but what would come next - after 12 years of sobriety was the next level to the miracle of sobriety I received.
I was asked to share my experience with staff and clients of the services offered at Bhn not only on my recovery but about how I have now become a vendor for branded t-shirts, signs, and promotional products for the organization.
Bhn has always been a dream client of mine. I’ve been given the opportunity over the past few years to be trusted with smaller projects and this year I was given an opportunity to bid for a much larger project. And fingers crossed we will cross the finish line on this order in the next few weeks.
My message wasnt only about my journey into recovery and the great care I received but also about showing people what is possible with God, consistency and a dream you’re not willing to give up despite what anyone else tells you! That’s my story and I’m on a mission to see just how far God can take an addict like me with a 9th grade education, who came into recovery with no skills, no trades, and a bag of donated clothes in a black trash bag.
The impact has been astounding thus far!
