Why I Love “Bad Ideas”

I love bad ideas. Truly, I do.

Why? Because every “bad” idea is just a stepping stone to something better. Some of my best projects started as ideas I wasn’t sure about—ones I had to tweak, rework, and sometimes completely flip on their head.

The best ideas don’t arrive fully formed. They’re born from experimenting, failing, and learning. So if you’ve got an idea and you’re not sure it’s “good enough,” don’t toss it aside. Start working with it.

You never know where it might take you.

Have you ever had a “bad” idea turn into something amazing?

Let me tell you about the first time I launched a new product. I was so excited—this was it, the thing that was going to change everything. I poured my heart into it, convinced it would fly off the shelves.

And then… it flopped. Big time.

I was crushed. I couldn’t figure out what went wrong until I started asking questions. Turns out, I had what I thought was amazing was, in fact, confusing and didn't solve the real problem they were experiencing. I hadn't been listening to my audience.

It was a humbling lesson, but an important one: Your audience is the key to your success. When you listen to them, amazing things happen.

Launching a great idea isn’t just about passion—it’s about finding the sweet spot where your dreams meet your customers’ needs.

The Myth of “Perfect Timing”

Have you ever waited for the perfect moment to start something? I have. I’ve told myself, “I’ll wait to launch until the timing is perfect.” Spoiler alert: That moment never came.

What I learned is that waiting for perfection is just fear in disguise. The truth is, there’s no such thing as a perfect time. The best time to start? When you’re excited, curious, and ready to take the next step—even if you don’t have all the answers yet.

Your idea doesn’t need to be flawless right out of the gate. It needs to connect with your audience. Start messy, learn as you go, and don’t let perfectionism hold you back.

What’s something you’ve been waiting for the “perfect” time to start?
