Old Window Workshop

Old Window Workshop Reasons to save:
THE ENVIRONMENT:
1. Old windows are 100% natural: Glass was blown, not melted in giant infernos and trucked long distances.

The wood is a gift to us from our original forest.
2. Landfills: Replacement windows end up in landfills. Old windows were built to be repaired--never wasted.
3. Removing lead paint correctly does no damage to the environment, but replacement glass with vinyl or aluminum frames burns tons of CO2 into the air. LOCAL ECONOMY:
1. Old windows create jobs. Their repair and m

aintenance is 95% labor, using only new paint and putty.
2. Every building has, or will have, windows that can be fixed by skilled workers. Every window can be a day's pay for local people. Windows are a vast source of jobs. QUALITY OF LIFE:
Old windows are beautiful! COMMON SENSE:
The National Trust for Historic Preservation has compiled studies that show old windows can be made as energy-efficient as new replacement windows, at a fraction of the cost.

Every senator from across the political spectrum must acknowledge the danger posed by rushing to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg's seat so close to an election. We all remember Mitch McConnell's blockade of President Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland 237 days before the 2016 election. The 2020 election...

Joe Connelly is a respected leader in the reuse industry. I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to him and ask if you'd be interested in working with me to offer a conference with Joe to help us look at the opportunities that REUSE can have for the greater Springfield area.
Send an email to me at: [email protected].

Why is our default C&D, construction and demolition? How and when did those two get married into such an unholy union? And why do we continue in the age of waste to use such archaic language that perpetuates the worst of our practices. I would like to suggest we switch to C&R, construction and reuse...

Come out to Pittsburgh to help our communities keep the building resources we have.

Build Reuse works nationally to empower communities to turn construction and demolition waste into resources. Our vision is to create a building industry in which used and excess materials become an asset to our communities.
