Municipalities continue to face multiple issues with declining support from the State of Illinois combined with numerous infrastructure and development needs. XLN is proud to represent smaller municipalities and bring their concerns directly to lawmakers.

XLN Services was once again representing ABATE of Illinois, Inc. on WTTW last night on the continued discussions around driverless vehicles trying to come to Illinois. Our position is clear, there must be real regulation and oversight of these companies want to test their technology on IL roads.

Critics are concerned about how the vehicles will impact rideshare workers and the larger economy.

Shout out to all the attorneys and staff at the Legislative Reference Bureau as they receive all the last minute requests to draft new legislation in Illinois today. Procrastinators have until 4:30pm today (1/16/25) to get those requests in.

The LRB performs a vital function in getting ideas transformed into legally sufficient legislation for the General Assembly to consider during the Spring session.

Republican state Rep. Brad Stephens is among several lawmakers who’ve introduced legislation that could bring those vehicles to Illinois, though none of the bills have advanced.

XLN Services was at the Capitol today with the Illinois State Assembly of Surgical Technologists & Margaret Vaughn Consulting to promote the Operating Room Patient Safety Act. This much needed legislation would require that Surgical Technologists employed in Illinois hospitals have accredited training before assisting surgeons in the operating room.
