Clutter Investigations doing business as Courthouse Courier has an opening for the position of process server in our Springfield office. Prefer individuals retired from law enforcement, but we are not excluding other applicants with strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Primary responsibilities include:
• delivering legal documents in a timely manner
• retrieving records and or document filing as requested
• ensuring compliance with legal procedures
• maintaining accurate records of service
Training provided
Requirements:
• Ability to pass background check
• Obtain IL PERC license and dependable transportation
Flexible schedule to include afternoon hours beginning at 1 p.m. Monday thru Friday, until all assignments are completed. Evenings and weekend work may be required for residential serves. This is an entry level position that could lead to investigative assignments.
Hourly rate of pay based on experience. Will reimburse for mileage.

What is Obstructing Service of Process?

According to (720 ILCS 5/31-3) (from Ch. 38, par. 31-3)
Sec. 31-3. Obstructing service of process.
Whoever knowingly resists or obstructs the authorized service or ex*****on of any civil or criminal process or order of any court commits a Class B misdemeanor.

These incidents should be reported to the court in which the service of process originated.
