When a reasonable accommodation request is ignored, it can leave employees feeling stuck — but you do have options. At Lampert Law, our team works to help employees understand their rights and take the next steps toward a fair resolution.

Start by documenting your request, including when you made it and who you spoke with. If nothing changes, follow up in writing to create a clear record of your efforts. And if the lack of response is affecting your job duties, work environment, or treatment in the workplace, it may be time to get legal guidance from a Missouri employment lawyer.

If this situation sounds familiar, what questions do you have about the accommodation process? We're here to help employees protect their workplace rights.

Experiencing possible discrimination at work can feel overwhelming, but documenting what is happening can make a real difference. Our team encourages employees to keep copies of emails, messages, schedules, performance reviews, and any changes in duties or treatment. Writing down dates, timelines, and the names of witnesses can also help create a clearer picture of what occurred.

Careful documentation does not guarantee an outcome, but it can help you understand your situation and get the right support. If you are in Springfield or surrounding Missouri communities and have concerns about workplace discrimination, Lampert Law can help you explore your options.

If you feel comfortable, share your thoughts or experiences below so others know they are not alone.

Terminated under suspicious circumstances? Our team at Lampert Law wants Missouri employees to know the red flags that may point to wrongful termination.

If your firing came shortly after reporting harassment, requesting protected leave, raising safety concerns, or standing up against discrimination, those timing issues can matter. Retaliation and discrimination often hide behind sudden or unclear termination decisions.

If something about your situation feels off, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Contact Lampert Law in Springfield for guidance on your workplace rights.

Cue the fireworks, fire up the grill, and get ready for what might be the most ambitious birthday cake of all time. 🎂

America turns 250 this year, which means 250 candles on the cake … so someone should probably alert the fire department.

However you’re celebrating the Fourth of July, we hope it’s filled with great food, good company, and a sky full of fireworks.

Our office will be closed on Friday, July 3rd, in observance of the holiday. We’ll be back and ready to help on Monday. Wishing you a safe and happy Fourth!

Can part-time employees receive workers’ comp?

In most cases, yes. Workers’ compensation laws typically cover all employees—not just full-time staff. If you’re on payroll and injured while doing your job, you may be entitled to benefits, even if you only work a few shifts a week.

We regularly help employees across Springfield and Missouri understand their workplace rights and what steps to take after an injury.

Not sure where you stand? Reach out to our team at Lampert Law—we’re here to help you make sense of your options.

As we reach the midpoint of the year, it is a good time to pause and ask: Does your estate plan still reflect your current wishes and circumstances?

Here are a few important questions to consider:

🔹 Have you experienced a major life change? Marriage, divorce, remarriage, the birth or adoption of a child or grandchild, a death in the family, purchasing a new home, starting a new business, or retirement can all impact how your plan operates.

🔹 Do your decision-makers not align with your wishes anymore? Your executor, trustee, and powers of attorney should be individuals who are still willing and able to serve when needed.

🔹 Could your assets and beneficiary designations use a quick review? Retirement accounts, life insurance policies, and property titles should align with your will or trust to avoid unintended outcomes.

🔹 Has it simply been a while since you checked in on your plan? Even without major life changes, estate plans should still be reviewed periodically to remain current with evolving laws and aligned with your long-term goals.

If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, then do not hesitate to contact us to schedule a review of your estate plan. We are here to help you keep everything aligned and up to date.
