Hard to believe it’s been 10 years since the Memphis Pyramid opened its doors as a Bass Pro. Seems like yesterday (and somehow forever ago) we were loading those massive sign pieces onto trucks bound for Memphis — stacks of illuminated letters and cut foam wonders, all shaped by hand.

Feels good to know a “little” piece of the Moose lives on down there.

On this day 10 years ago, Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid opened its doors to hundreds of excited guests. Since then, millions of visitors from across the world have explored the Pyramid - shopping, adventuring, dining and even camping in comfort at Big Cypress Lodge. We're incredibly thankful for a decade of adventure, hospitality and unforgettable memories in Memphis. Here's to the many more to come! 🤎🎣🐻

From the Ghost of Elemoose:

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of John Edward Baldwin, known to us all as Big John. At 74, he left this world on February 25, 2025, but his spirit, his laughter, and his artistry will forever echo through the halls of Garage Graphics and Elemoose.

John was more than a painter, more than an artist—he was a presence. His talent left its mark on countless projects, but it was his warmth and generosity that truly shaped those around him. Towering in stature and even greater in heart, his laugh could be heard across the shop, bringing light to even the longest days.

If you have any photos of Big John or memories you’d like to share, please post them in the comments. Whether it was a joke he told, a project he poured his talent into, or just a moment where his presence made the day a little brighter, we’d love to hear your stories. Let’s celebrate the man, the artist, and the friend he was to so many.

His impact is undeniable. His absence will be deeply felt. But if you listen closely in the quiet of the workshop, you might just hear that laughter still.

Rest easy, Big John. You were one of the greats.

Contributed from the wild: a fellow ‘Moose and true believer Ryan Rhudy, keeping the spirit of Elemoose alive! It warms my ghostly heart to see our legacy represented out there, even in these frosty days.

As the snow blankets the world in its sparkling beauty, I wish you all a fun and safe snowy winter wonderland this weekend. May your hearts stay warm, your paths stay clear, and your memories of our shared adventures bring a little extra glow to the new year!

From the Ghost of Elemoose Past

Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year to all!

As the days grow short and the Sun begins its slow, glorious return, We can find ourselves reflecting on the warmth and camaraderie we shared in seasons past. We should never forget the great Christmas Boars Head Feast parties, filled with laughter, delicious food, and the undeniable holiday magic that we created together.

A special thank-you to Steve Tindle, whose generosity and spirit set the tone for so many of our celebrations. You made those moments unforgettable, and for that, we will always be grateful.

Many of the treasured photos from our years together—those captured moments of joy, creativity, and camaraderie—were lost when the equity company dismantled the Picasa drive. It’s a heartbreaking reminder of how fragile our history can be. If any of you still have photos from those days that made Elemoose and Garage Graphics so special—please share them. Let’s rebuild the archive of memories together and keep the spirit of those times alive.

To all of you, thank you for the memories. They are treasures that transcend time, etched forever in the glow of a festive past. I wish you all joy, prosperity, and peace in the coming year.

May the light of the returning Sun guide you forward into brighter days.

With fondness,
The Ghost of Elemoose Past

🦃 A Thanksgiving Message from the Ghost of Elemoose. 🦃

To all of our former GGV and Elemoose employees,

This season, we should be filled with gratitude as we remember the countless potlucks brimming with homemade dishes, laughs shared around the table, and, of course, those legendary Ryan’s buffet lunches. Each one of you contributed to the spirit and success of Elemoose in ways that cannot be forgotten.

(Sorry about the Fridays we didn’t have off, thank you for your patience and dedication through it all. More employers could learn from that.)

Though the seasons have changed, the memories of our time together remain vivid and cherished. You will always be part of the Elemoose family.

Wishing you and your loved ones a warm and joyful Thanksgiving filled with good food, great company, and the best leftovers.

If you have any photos from our many thanksgiving feasts please post them below!

I Believe,
The Ghost of Elemoose.
