6.12.25 Proud of Equity in the 413 Addressing specific ways to identify, interrupt and act on our local regional needs. Allowing myself to hear different perspectives, learn about other facilitation styles and recommendations to creating fair environments was a way of “Soulcare”. Borrowed word from the Sound bath session with Maria Del Carmen. Thank you Community Foundation, Brittany, the planning team, Keynote Surilda Summers McGee, and my community change makers who kept me reflecting, laughing and enjoying the learning.

Inclusive Strategies, LLC Pledge & Badge earned through attendance. Proud to support my Communtiy!

What a beautiful day to celebrating Asjha! Our Graduate!

Watching you grow alongside Lorenzo and chase your dreams in Bachelor of Science in Biology with a double minor in chemistry and public health has been inspirational. You didn’t just follow a path; you created your own.You thought carefully about what mattered most to you and your family, and you stayed true to yourself every step of the way.

I watched you get into those special summer Harvard programs during high school and laboratory internships during your undergrad, to learning deeply about science, biology, women’s rights and reproductive justice; you’ve shown such strength, focus, curiosity, humility and heart. Your passion for helping others, especially in the area of women’s reproductive health, is something truly special. I hope that making your favorite breakfast to help you start your day or your favorite dinners to get you through your homework was enough to remind you how much we love you!

I am so proud of you, not just of what you’ve achieved, but of who you are. A smart, kind, determined woman who is ready to make a difference. You did it! And I know this is just the beginning of all the wonderful things you will do.

With all my love and admiration,
Your proud Momma in law

Dr. Yves Salomon-Fernandez, President of Urban College of Boston, a 2024 Boston Business Journal Power Leader, and friend, delivers a deeply personal and inspiring TedxBabsonBabsoCollege Talk “Unlocking Individual Potential” I felt so many connections to my own experiences and inspiration on how she reframes risk-taking and setbacks as critical steps to unlocking potential. I have watched Dr. Yves navigate and breakthrough spaces and she activates a chain reaction to contribute to societal transformation.

Gracias! Reconnecting with you this year had a purpose and I’m seeing it. Thank you for sharing your story with a global audience. Yves Salomon-Fernández, Ph.D. Take a moment to listen! 🎤

Today was a historic and heartwarming event at HCC campus as we witnessed the oath and pinning ceremony of the very first Latina, female Chief of Police — Chief Robles!

A heartfelt thank you to President Timmons, VP of people, culture, and equity Dr. Washington, the leadership team, campus police department officers, dedicated faculty, staff, students, and the broader community for coming together to make this day unforgettable for our whole family!

From the beautifully curated speeches that honored equity, leadership, Chief Robles humanity & humor to the cultural touch of the Puerto Rican cuarto playing during the procession, and the deliciously authentic food — every detail reflected deep respect and celebration of heritage, strength, and community.

Chief Robles, known for her fierce leadership, wit, love for karaoke, and living her Wonder Woman life daily, was truly honored today — and she gave us all a reason to smile, laugh, and feel inspired.

The ROBLES family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who shared in this milestone moment — especially Former Chief Livingston (for providing. Succession plan), Central HS with the Presentation of Colors, Mayor Garcia, Chief Keenan, student senate president Heredia, Chief Barrows from Bunker Hill CC for his mentoring, our esteemed legislators Senator Gomez, Representative Ramos, and campus community.

Surprise moment: The Puerto Rican Parade committee announced Chief Robles as the 2025 Civil Service Ambassador for the upcoming September 14th celebration — an honor well deserved!

Here’s to Chief Robles — a trailblazer, a role model, and a powerful symbol of what it means to lead with heart, humor, heritage and integrity!

¡Felicidades, Chief!

She’s my AUNT! T**i (auntie in Spanish) will be taking the Oath to assume her role as The new Executive Director of Community Safety/Chief of Police at My Abuela Lola is smiling down from heaven knowing her youngest of 13 has dedicated her career to service. Sgt. Robles soon to be Chief Robles is the first Latinx and first woman to hold this post. Help me in wishing her success in this new appointment on May 5th.

Sgt. Robles, who also comes from a family of police officers, has dedicated her career to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for diverse communities. Her leadership at HCC for over 22 years is a testimony of her steadfastness and commitment to the institution and the people she serves. Through her leadership at HCC, Sgt. Robles will further strengthen the college’s new commitment to community policing, creating an atmosphere where students, employees, guests, and friends of the college feel supported and secure.

Sgt. Robles began her career in safety and security in January 2001 in Springfield before joining the law enforcement community and Holyoke Community College Police Department in November 2002 as a patrol officer. In 2016, Robles was promoted to Sergeant with the HCC Police Department where she supervised police officers, deputies from the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office, Institutional Security Officers (ISOs), Parking Lot Attendants, and administrative dispatchers. She developed long-term operational strategic plans that align with the college’s goals.

Sgt. Robles graduated from in May 1997 with an associate degree in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement. She has also advanced herself with numerous training certifications and merit awards throughout her professional career. Sgt. Robles model and command presence and leadership through being a role model to many individuals, and becoming the first Latina woman Chief of Police at Holyoke Community College.
