Bittersweet does not even begin to cover it…

After 4 of the most incredible years, I will be stepping away from my role as Director of the Mayland Small Business Center.

To our communities across Mitchell, Yancey, Avery—and beyond—THANK YOU! Truly. It has been one of the greatest honors of my career to walk alongside so many of you as you took risks, chased ideas, followed dreams, and built something of your own. I am so humbled to be a part of your journey.

I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of entrepreneurs and small business owners—watching dreams move from “just an idea” to real, thriving businesses. There’s nothing quite like seeing someone bet on themselves and win. Being even a small part of that journey is something I’ll carry with me forever.

This work has never just been a job to me. It’s been people, relationships, late-night ideas, early-morning workshops, and a shared belief that small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities!

As I step into my next chapter, I’m cheering every single one of you on. Keep going. Keep building. Keep believing in what you’re creating. You can do anything you set your mind to!

During this transition, the Mayland Small Business Center will be temporarily closed. However, resources and support are still available through our statewide network at www.ncsbc.net.

From the bottom of my heart—thank you for trusting me, for allowing me to serve, and for letting me be part of your journey.

Here’s to your continued success. 💛
