Topic of the Day: Rejection
It has been a minute since I spoke on topics, so it is time.
Being rejected DOES NOT mean give up. Do you know how many times I was rejected in life????? A Lot!! Too short, teeth not straight enough, not small enough, not big enough, not the look we want. That did not make me give up, that made me work towards the areas I needed to improve on. To be a model requires tough skin. You are always in competition with the next and you will always be beat out by another. It's inevitable. If you give up everytime you are told no, that makes me feel you are not serious. A serious person will keep trying. When I pick people there are alot of variables, the look, the ex*****on, the availability of wardrobe, the attitude of a model, hair flexibility. Anything I do or produce REQUIRES flexible hair. If your hair is always in a protected style, I will probably not reach to you for my projects. I style from head to toe in most cases. If my vision cannot be executed fully, then I rather save it. I teach choreography, if you are not at practice you probably won't be in the scene, especially if I don't know your capabilities. Even if you are there and others execute it better I am picking the better option. Every situation is not meant for every person. As a creative director, model trainer, Stylist etc I can see where people need to be and where they don't. It doesn't mean you are not good, just not a good fit for that situation. However at times, you may need improvement. Everyone needs improvement in something. No one model is perfect in every aspect. Some better in Runway, some better in editorial, some better in commercial etc. SO STOP GIVING UP, because you received a no in life. Use this knowledge drop in your personal and business life.
