If you've lived in St. Louis for any length of time, there's a pretty good chance you know the Dobbs name.

And they've given us another reason to celebrate! 🎉

Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers opened its first St. Louis location in 1976, and 50 years later, they're still growing. Just last week, the team celebrated the grand opening of its newest location!

That's a pretty incredible milestone for a hometown business, and behind that growth are the people who've helped Dobbs become such a familiar name in our community.

We're celebrating another homecoming, too. Dobbs has returned to the AAIM community, and Susan Glascock is excited to support the team as they continue building on their success.

What started as a graduate school of theology has grown into something much bigger — an organization reaching people around the world through education, books, films, digital resources, parish programs, retreats, and more.

At the center of all of it is a clear mission: helping people better understand, live, and share the Catholic faith.

And behind a mission with that kind of reach are people making it happen every day — educators, creators, leaders, and employees bringing their talents together around work they deeply believe in.

A big welcome to the AAIM community, Discovery Children's Center. ❤️

If you want to know what kind of community surrounds Discovery, their story tells you pretty quickly.

When the pandemic forced the Center to close in 2020, parents and staff came together, formed a new board, and reopened its doors just three months later.

That commitment makes even more sense when you realize Discovery has been part of St. Louis’ Dogtown neighborhood for more than 40 years — caring for generations of children and creating a place where curiosity, creativity, exploration, and plenty of play are part of growing up.

Today, Discovery continues as a nonprofit supported by a volunteer parent board and an experienced team of educators. It’s clearly a place people care deeply about — and one they’re willing to show up for.

Susan Glascock is excited to support the people behind Discovery as they join the AAIM community.

4 organizations + 1 room = a stronger bench of leaders in Southeast Missouri.

Leaders from Schaefer's Electrical Enclosures, MRV Banks, the City of Perryville and Luther Home came together in Cape Girardeau for The Supervisor's Toolbox with Heath Luehmann. They worked side by side on leadership, communication, coaching and motivation.

That kind of collaboration makes a whole region stronger. Thank you to these organizations for showing up for your leaders, and for each other.

A big welcome to the AAIM community, Village of Glen Carbon. ❤️

Glen Carbon has changed quite a bit since its early days as a mining and railroad town, but one thing has stuck around: a strong sense of community.

Today, it’s a growing village just across the river from St. Louis, with parks and trails, a thriving business community, great schools, and an Old Town that still holds onto plenty of its small-town charm.

And behind all of it are the people doing the everyday work of keeping a community running, growing, and a great place to call home.

Those are exactly the kinds of people we’re happy to have in our community, too.

Hailey Stamper brought the Village of Glen Carbon into the AAIM family, and we’re excited to support the team behind a place so many people in our region know and love.

You may know Matt Wideman from a training class. Or a roundtable. Or a WOW Session. Or Employment Law Update. Or maybe you’ve caught him on This Week at Work.

After nearly **seven years with AAIM**, Matt has shown up in a lot of places—and helped a lot of members along the way.

Today, as our **Sr. Manager – Workforce Solutions**, he brings that experience (and a genuine love of solving problems) to helping organizations find the right way forward.

✨ How I First Connected with AAIM

I was recruited to AAIM by an HR colleague I had worked with at a previous employer.

But AAIM wasn’t completely new to me. One of my previous employers used AAIM for training and development, and I had actually taken a couple of classes myself before coming to work here.

✨ How Members Usually Connect With Me

Over the years, members may have connected with me in quite a few ways.

I’ve helped coordinate training classes, produced online events like our Employment Law Update and Payroll Tax Update, and helped facilitate roundtables and WOW Sessions. I’ve even joined Phil and Burt as a guest on This Week at Work a couple of times.

✨ One Thing I’ve Learned Working With Members

Our members represent all kinds of organizations—from manufacturers and nonprofits to municipalities—but there’s a lot more common ground than you might expect.

Organizations across industries are working through many of the same challenges: developing their people, managing turnover and employee relations, and keeping up with changing employment laws.

✨ What I Enjoy Most About Serving AAIM Members

I love the variety of people I get to work with and the challenges they bring to us.

I like hearing what someone needs and figuring out how to solve it. To me, those problems are a lot like puzzles—and I genuinely enjoy putting the pieces together.

✨ A Few Community Favorites

• Favorite local pizza: Uncle Leo’s, Monte Bello, Mama Mel’s and Nubby’s — South County has too many good options to pick just one.
• Favorite local activity: Taking my dog for walks at our local parks
• Favorite way to spend an afternoon: A St. Louis microbrewery patio with friends
• Favorite secret spot: The Asian food counter inside Pan-Asia Supermarket. Get the DanDan Noodles if you like spicy!

✨ Something You Might Not Know About Me

My first job was in the lumber department at Central Hardware.

These days, I’m a girl dad to twins + one—and I’m also a bit of a trivia guru. Give me a good contest and I’m in.

An employee tells you their religious beliefs prevent them from using AI at work. What do you do?

It’s a question the attorneys raised during the federal portion of our Employment Law Update, and it’s one more reason the workplace AI conversation is getting interesting.

Our first move would be to ask questions. What specific use of AI conflicts with the employee’s beliefs? Which parts of the job does that affect? Is there another way to get that work done?

You wouldn’t automatically dismiss the request. You also wouldn’t promise an exemption before understanding the work involved.
