Not sure where to start? Many IT professionals begin in generalist roles that cover a range of issues, like help desk technician or IT associate. You may get an entry-level IT certification to help you land one of these roles, though it's often not required. Once you’ve gained some experience and have a better grasp of what you like doing, you might think about focusing your career on a more specific area.

Working in IT can mean a variety of different things. You can work in computer support, cybersecurity, data, cloud computing, and other areas.

In May this year, Citizen’s own CEO authorized the offer of a $30,000 bounty to users if they could find a man accused of starting a wildfire. The man’s name and image were shared on an official livestream on the app, with hosts encouraging watchers to “get out there and bring this guy to justice” and “hunt this guy down.” But the individual was wrongly accused and later cleared by the police, who said Citizen’s actions had been potentially “disastrous.”

The crime-reporting app has big plans: live broadcasts, for-hire private security details, and a growing user base of freaked-out customers. It’s building a paranoid, profitable future.

Restaurants and hotels can benefit from these robots, which are automatic, intelligent and contactless.

They can automate the food or beverage-making process, save money and human resources, enrich menus, make fewer mistakes, reduce food waste, and work 24/7 without a raise.

Aside from being pretty cool and bringing innovation into businesses, customer-facing robots can help reduce human contact, a significant benefit at COVID-19.

The automation revolution has begun in the restaurant industry.

Metaverse refers to shared virtual worlds where land, buildings, avatars and even names can be bought and sold, often using cryptocurrency. In these environments, people can wander around with friends, visit buildings, buy goods and services, and attend events.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation on Thursday published a blog opposing the update, calling it a "backdoor" that could be used to spy on Apple users.

"Make no mistake: if they can scan for kiddie p**n today, they can scan for anything tomorrow. They turned a trillion dollars of devices into iNarcs—*without asking.*"

Read and sign the open letter protesting against Apple's roll-out of new content-scanning technology that threatens to overturn individual privacy on a global scale, and to reverse progress achieved with end-to-end encryption for all.

…perhaps the biggest hurdle to American manufacturing is you and me, our friends and family. We vote with our wallets. And even though "Buy American" polls well, we all seem to keep buying stuff no matter where it came from.

"Am I willing to do the legwork to find what's made in the US or find what was made locally and purchase that to give my signal to the system?" says Krystyn Van Vliet, a professor, research VP and associate provost at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology…

She adds, "Consumers signal to manufacturers what consumers want, so we have a responsibility if we want this to change."

Apple users will be asked by each installed app whether it’s okay to follow them around online. Facebook rightly assumes that most people will say no, and all those “allow Facebook to track your activity” requests will be a PR nightmare as everyone thinks about the business model underpinning “free to use” apps.
There is complexity underlying this debate—free-to-use services funded by access to our data, a level (or otherwise) playing field controlled by Apple, what each of those privacy labels actually means in the real world.
Facebook is now testing how it might explain this to users in a convincing enough way that those users will say okay, yes, feel free to track me.

Earlier this year, Google cleverly allowed Facebook to play the role of minesweeper when Apple’s privacy labels exposed the sheer extent of the previously invisible data harvesting taking place….
As DuckDuckGo warns, “Google’s trackers are installed on 75% of the top million websites—the next closest is Facebook at 25%. Google sells ads not only on their search engine, but also on over 2.2 million other websites and over 1 million apps. Every time you visit one of these sites or apps, Google is storing that information and using it to target ads at you.” Google dwarfs Facebook when it comes to this tracking—period.

Facebook will be preempting Apple's implementation of iOS 14's App Tracking Transparency features by asking users of the social network to give the app permission to track them.
