HR1 (Big Beautiful Bill) has removed Medicaid eligibility for asylum seekers and refugees until their green card is processed starting October 1. That process can take a year or more. Depending on visa status, they may or may not be able to work in the US.

We had at one child who had a tonsillectomy scheduled for October 1 have to cancel the surgery due to loss of Medicaid coverage. For a child. The family can pay up front if they want to get the surgery.

Covid vaccines are in but we cannot use them yet. We are waiting for the Board of Pharmacy to inform us how we can administer (Wed Sept 10 meeting) since there are no CDC guidelines until ACIP meets (Sept 18/19).
