Twenty-four years with QABS means Kelley has seen a lot, supported a lot, and probably solved more behind-the-scenes association puzzles than we could count.

As our Associate Director, Kelley works across communications, membership, finances, meeting planning, and board facilitation. She also brings more than 25 years of association management experience and holds both the Certified Meeting Professional® and Cvent Certified Event Management Professional credentials.

That kind of experience is hard to replace, and we’re grateful for the steady knowledge, flexibility, and commitment Kelley brings to our clients and our team.

Yes, and that's one of the biggest advantages of partnering with an AMC.

Associations often need expertise in areas like membership, meeting planning, marketing, communications, finance, sponsorships, technology, and governance. Hiring a full-time specialist for every role isn't realistic for many organizations.

Happy Birthday to Rick Dungey! 🎉

Rick wears a lot of hats at QABS, and two of them come with a whole lot of Christmas spirit.

As Executive Director of the National Christmas Tree Association, he helps support the farm-grown Christmas tree industry and the network of growers, state and regional associations, and related businesses that make up the real Christmas tree community. NCTA represents more than 700 active member farms and 4,000+ affiliated businesses, with a mission focused on protecting and advocating for the industry.

He also serves as Executive Director of the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, home of Trees for Troops. The program brings free, farm-grown Christmas trees to service members and military families, with more than 347,000 trees provided since the program began in 2005.

That is a lot of coordination, communication, people, and moving pieces, which fits Rick pretty well.

We’re glad to have him on the QABS team. Happy Birthday, Rick! 🎂🎄

In a time when trust in many institutions is slipping, nonprofits are holding their ground.

A new survey highlighted by Associations Now found that 56% of Americans trust nonprofits to do the right thing, placing the sector ahead of several other major institutions.

That says a lot about the relationship nonprofits build with the people and communities they serve.

It also comes with responsibility. Trust has to be maintained through transparency, good communication, and staying focused on the mission and the people behind it.

The best vendor partnerships should feel like partnerships, not transactions.

That is one of the big takeaways from this Associations Now article. Suppliers can bring expertise, ideas, connections, and resources that add real value for members, while associations can offer meaningful access to the communities those suppliers want to serve.

The survey also found that nearly 78% of organizations now offer year-round sponsorship opportunities. So simply being available all year is no longer enough. Those opportunities need to connect, make sense for the audience, and give partners a way to see the results of their investment.

There is a lot here for association teams thinking about how they work with sponsors, vendors, and industry partners.
