Hello Everyone,

As many of you have likely seen in the news, there is a new ransomware attack that began in Ukraine, and has spread quickly across Europe today.

As an ESET partner, we provide managed antivirus solutions that offer you a great level of protection.

That coupled with a good backup solution, such as our Quest Rapid Recovery, formerly Dell Appassure being the best solution, are the best defense.

However, it is still imperative that you do your part and not open any attachments from someone unless you were expecting the attachment and you know the sender. This particular ransomware is delivered via Excel and other Office attachments. So be wary of anything like that coming from someone you don’t know.

We did a bare metal recovery of a server yesterday. We brought a local municipality here in St Louis back up within 24 hours after a RAID 5 failure. Something so rare it is the first one we have seen in 15 years.
With our state of the art AppAssure backup solution we were able to restore the server back to a restore point 45 minutes before the failure due to hourly snapshots.
The mayor of the city told us he hadn't even realized they were down, we call that a success!

We had a great Holiday Party on Saturday at Carmine's Steak House! Dave was bragging to everyone that he won the bowling this morning until he was reminded what his score was and then he remembered he was just the best of the worst!! Thomas missed the fun and the free meal!
