I've always loved the idea of gardening. My first attempt was probably age 4 when I buried my mothers engagement ring in the back yard. Good thing it was a very small diamond and needless to say.. nothing came up. My second attempt was about age 12. Our neighbor Mr. French gave me several starter plants from his garden after I expressed my interest in gardening. He told me to find a sunny spot and water everyday. I found the sunniest spot in our back yard and dug into the light brownish dirt, stuck the plants in and watered everyday. It didn't take long for my little plot to wither away. Where did I go wrong??!!

Over the years I've studied and experimented. What I've learned is plants, much like us, thrive when nurtured and secure. They need more than dirt and water. They need to be comfortable and fed. This is what my Garden Bed page is about. My journey in learning about soil, gardening styles and how to feed plants to thrive not just survive. Just like raising our children. So welcome to my page and I hope you are encouraged to grow a green thumb.
