October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗

Most of us know someone affected by breast cancer, whether it's a friend, family member, coworker, or even ourselves.

This month is a reminder to take care of our own health, check in on the people we care about, and support those who are facing breast cancer.

There are lots of ways to help, from getting your screenings and encouraging others to do the same, to donating, volunteering, or simply being there when someone needs you.

A little awareness and support can go a long way.

What happens when the person everyone relies on needs support?

After a recent loss in my family, I’ve been reminded that being a business owner doesn’t mean you have to carry everything yourself. Grief doesn’t wait for your calendar to clear, and sometimes the strongest thing you can do is tell your team what you need and let them step in.

I’m especially grateful for Pamela Hodge, Krista Biesecker, Renee Valle Anderson, Sara Rivers, and everyone on the SML team. They’ve checked on me, kept things moving, and given me room to be human. I’m grateful to our clients, too, for their kindness and understanding.
