I applaud Octavia Goredema for writing a helpful article about a topic that gets swept under the rug too often. Age discrimination is rampant in the workplace and my clients talk to me about their experience with this all the time.

If you’re a senior professional who has decided to change careers, how will you compete in a new field with younger competition? Will prospective employers immediately dismiss you as a candidate because you’re overqualified? The author presents four strategies to use if you’re preparing to swi...

New research shows that people in lower wage jobs find more upward mobility when they switch employers rather than making an internal move.

I spend a lot of time with my executive coaching clients helping them to eliminate words and phrases and find substitute language. This article is so helpful in explaining the benefits of not using one simple word. I won't do a spoiler alert, so that you read the article. :-)

Stopping this word from coming out of your mouth will also help you be taken seriously.

I realize most of us would not want to be working still at age 100 however I couldn’t resist posting this sweet story. We all wish for nice co-workers!

Ultimately, Jayne Burns says there’s no secret to living a longer, happier life, but “working has helped.”

A recent NY Times article highlights the importance of managing work-related stress. According to a study, chronic stress at work can have severe effects on mental and physical health. Researchers found that when employees were offered a stress management program, 88% of them reported significant improvements in their well-being.

Because sometimes leaving isn’t the best option.

Communicating with kindness always works, particularly when people are feeling stressed, uncertain, or embroiled in a conflict.

Are you considering making a bold career move and resigning from your current job? How much notice should you give?

While providing a two-week notice before resigning is the norm, some circumstances may warrant a shorter or longer notice period.

Job descriptions are often inaccurate reflections of the positions. Candidates can be misled by the language used in job descriptions, which may not accurately reflect the day-to-day responsibilities of the role.

Candidates need to recognize that these are marketing documents, aimed at getting them excited about the job, and they aren’t necessarily accurate reflections of the responsibilities and performance measures they will ...

I coach a significant number of recent grads who were hired remotely and are not geographically close to their employer’s offices. They are all concerned about not having met colleagues in person and finding ways to enable experienced employees and senior people to get to know them. They feel inauthentic networking on video platforms and tend to default to not trying in many cases. I believe that this is an opportunity for employers to facilitate creative ways to help recent grads and junior employees to gain exposure to experienced employees and leadership. Sadly, this isn’t happening.

The data showing that remote workers spend fewer hours working, less productively, is really starting to add up.
