Aquatic therapists may be some of the most skilled adapters you’ll ever meet. 🙌

No two swimmers are exactly alike.

Even when two individuals share the same diagnosis, their strengths, challenges, motivations, sensory needs, communication styles, and goals can be completely different.

That’s why aquatic therapy is never about following a script.

It’s a constant process of observation, evaluation, problem-solving, and adaptation.

Is this positioning helping?

Is the support level right?

Is the environment working for this swimmer?

Is there another approach that may lead to greater success?

Aquatic therapists are continuously assessing what they’re seeing, adjusting techniques, evaluating outcomes, and refining their approach to help each swimmer move closer to their goals.

It’s a feedback loop that happens moment by moment:

A truly special day 🩵 Last weekend, Ailene had the opportunity to attend a fundraiser with Team Woofgang & Co., and we're still smiling when we think about it.

What made the event so memorable wasn't just the gathering itself, it was the sense of belonging. Seeing people come together to celebrate abilities, create connections, and support one another is exactly what inclusion looks like.

Organizations like Team Woofgang & Co. are helping build communities where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have opportunities for meaningful work, lifelong learning, friendship, and independence. Their vision centers on full inclusion and creating spaces where everyone can thrive.

We're grateful to have been part of such a positive event and to witness firsthand the impact that happens when communities intentionally make room for everyone.

Here's to more moments like these, where differences are celebrated, opportunities are expanded, and everyone has a seat at the table. 🩷

10 swim schools. One pool. One mission. 🩷🩵

On Friday, Cindy was on the road in Minnesota leading another Swim Whisperers® Adaptive Aquatics In-Water Workshop!

We brought together swim instructors from 10 different swim schools to learn practical, hands-on strategies for supporting swimmers of all abilities in and around the water.

A huge ✨THANK YOU✨ to Abbey's Hope for making this workshop possible. Their dedication to water safety continues to impact families and communities across the country.

And there’s was surprise for everyone attending…

Each participant went home with a copy of our brand-new All Abilities Water Safety Activity Book!!

More instructors trained = more inclusive swim lessons, safer swimmers, and more families supported.

Minnesota, let’s do this! 🙌

What happens when adaptive swimmers, dedicated families, passionate instructors, and an entire community come together around water safety and inclusion?

Last week at Upper Valley Aquatic Center, we had the privilege of leading a Swim Whisperers® Adaptive Aquatics In-Water Workshop while also supporting 28 adaptive swimmers and their families through a day focused on confidence, skill-building, and success in the water.

One of the things we love most about these events is that the impact extends far beyond a single day.

While swimmers and families gain valuable water safety skills and positive aquatic experiences, instructors gain practical, hands-on strategies they can immediately use to create more inclusive swim lessons for years to come.

Every trained instructor has the potential to reach hundreds (or even thousands) of swimmers throughout their career. That’s how change happens. One swimmer. One family. One instructor. One community at a time.

A huge thank you to Kana, Upper Valley Aquatic Center, the participating families, and everyone who helped make this event possible.
