🕷️FEMALE WOLF SPIDER🕷️

This is a well-known and fascinating behavior unique to wolf spiders. While many spider species create egg sacs and abandon them, female wolf spiders are dedicated mothers.

After their eggs hatch, the dozens of tiny spiderlings instinctively climb onto the mother’s abdomen. She will carry them around for several weeks until they are large enough to disperse and fend for themselves.

Pictured below is a perfect example of the mother wolf spider carrying her babies! How fascinating to find!
