I have a new to me Pfaff 138-6. So far everything looks intact. I needs lots of oil, its very dry. It had not been used for 12 years. The zig zag is stuck and the reverse spring is a little loose. The lady that used it before made drapes and quilts. Her daughter was happy I was bringing it back to life.

I found this beat up old gentleman's chest. After some repairs , shellac, stain and wax it looks much better.

This old Kenmore was making a birds nest when sewing on the bottom of the fabric. I clean it up, oiled it and removed some thread stuck in the take up lever. It's sewing great and heading back to its owner.

This Borletti was locked up,even the motor when I picked it up. After some time and research I found a new belt and now have it running. The Borletti 1102 was a top of the line Italian sewing machine in the 1950'S. It has a double pattern cam mechanism, a needle threader , automatic button hole k**b and many more features. The red k**b reminds me of a gear shift in a car. In fact it looks like a 1956 Alfa Romeo 1900 cc.

Another great machine. This is an Elna 62c from the 70's. It's 50 years old and sews smooth. Lots of extras feet, cams and notions. It even has the original machine shipping screws and bands for storing the foot pedal. The needle position button was stuck, but a little triflow and cleaning had it working.

Cindy is trying something new with her handbags, so she had to use my Singer 31-15 with a roller foot. I think I lost another machine. This modle of machines was used for years to sew designs on cowboy boot uppers. The US military used it for parachute riging. In 1985 the military still had instruction manuals on how to service them. They were originally built for tailors in the 1900s. My oldest is from 1908. I love the decals on my 1910 modle it has an original tailors treadle table, too.

I was cleaning my Bernina 930 Record today, then there was a loud pop, a cloud of smoke and a burning oil smell. I was hoping it was just the interference capasitor. It was. These capasitors keep your radio and TV's with tubes from static. Best part is you can still run the machine with out one. Next time we'll look at a Elna 62c Supermatic.

Found this old Worksman tricycle, well not too old my guess is it's from the 90's. I started polishing the chrome. It looks like the rust will come off with a little elbow grease. I lubed all the bearings. The drum brake was stuck, but it's now free. I'm going to modify it so Gus can pull it. That should be a blast. I'll have to true up all the rims and get new tires before we ride it around. All the tires are dry rotted.

I'm now really done with Cindys Pfaff. I changed the foot pedal lift for a knee lift. Cindy is more comfortable with a knee lift. Retimed, checked the pressure foot tension and installed the front grease box. It's fahrvergnugen but for nahmaschine.

Now that I have Cindy's Pfaff up and running, I'll have to start on my next project. A 6' Craftsman drill press. It was built by King-Seeley sometime in the 1950's. It has a Vari-slo attachment, but I'll have to remake or find some parts of the Vari-slo. This attachment works to mechanicaly change the drill speed. Today you control the speed of machines with just a dial.
If you had a lunch pail and thermos as a child or your dad had a lunch pail, it was probably made by King-Seeley. They bought the Thermos company in the 60's.

I finally had time to get the Pfaff 145 reassembled and adjusted. It's easier to sew and change the stich length compared to the Singer 111w. Cindy enjoyed sewing with the Nakajima, but the Pfaff can sew thicker materials about 11mm. I can't wait to see what bags she makes now. Next a new paint job.
