New Contest Alert!!! I am buying a $100 dollar ticket for United Way’s $50K Your Way Contest. This is a great way to give back to an organization that helps out locally in our community. The ticket holder has a chance of being 1 of 5 winners of $10K in a raffle sponsored by United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee next month, so I am doing a little contest of my own.

Well, the contest is over and no one guessed the exact number of gumballs, which was 277. But we did have a really close tie with 2 people guessing 250. Congratulations to Stephen Kingsberry & Joyce Whitfield, you'll both be getting a $25 gift card!!!

What I like doesn't matter. I found this out when I set up my first vending machine. You see, I don't particularly like Dr. Pepper or Mtn Dew, but my customers are crazy about them! It reminds me that when we serve others, it is not about us but about them.

The First Vending Machine.

This blew my mind. It is believed the first vending machine was created in Egypt by Hero of Alexandria. A coin was placed in the device pictured and through some clever use of weights and pulleys, Holy Water was dispensed. It didn't take long for the Roman party animals to take the same device and use it to dispense wine for their parties.
