This token was hidden beside the railroad crossing at Gilmer-Wilburn Rd & Railroad St just south of Artesia.

The clue was inspired by the real history of the rail line itself. The Mobile & Ohio Railroad was built through eastern Mississippi in the 1850s, before the Civil War, as part of a major north-south route from Mobile toward the Ohio River. The line helped shape the communities that grew along it and has remained an active railroad corridor for more than 165 years.

Couch Club members also received an extra clue image showing the railroad crossing area, giving important context to the narrative.

Congrats to Ethan for cracking it — his second solve in a row. 🔥

This puzzle was built around an account from Peter Pitchlynn, who grew up at Plymouth Bluff in the early 1800s. His father, John Pitchlynn, was a U.S. interpreter for the Choctaw and established a home there around 1810, later fortifying it during the Creek War in 1813. That site became known as Fort Smith.
Plymouth developed around that homestead along the Tombigbee River, but the exact location of the fort today is not precisely known.

The clue followed Pitchlynn’s memory of the alarm, when his mother fled southwest with the children while his brother remained behind in the fort.

The key line in Clue 2 was:
“The water’s edge was near…”
That pointed solvers not to the fort itself, but to the area beside it along the river — leading to the Charles Younger Boat Ramp near the old Plymouth settlement. The token was hidden there under a birdhouse. Couch Club members received the crucial image that revealed exactly what to look for.
