Unpopular opinion: most marketing strategies today suck. They’re manipulative. They’re dishonest. They focus on selling over serving. And they’re just straight up sh*t.
After being in the marketing sphere for years and learning all the “proven” techniques from the gurus 🤮, I’ve learned that most of the marketing strategies being taught today SUCK and made me feel like a sh*tty person when I implemented them.
They involved lying (like only 10 spaces available when course registration is unlimited), or being super manipulative/fearful (you HAVE to do it my way or else you’ll be broke forever and lose your business!), and some of them just straight up sucked (like being told to focus on only one platform, only to put all my energy into it and see absolutely none of those “proven” results).
So what are we to do? Here’s my solution and how I’ll be marketing my business going forward to actually feel GOOD about what I’m sharing:
✅ Using a REALISTIC omnipresent marketing strategy to be on more than one platform at once without making content creation my entire life
✅Keeping my marketing HONEST. Only using “scarcity” tactics when they’re true (like when I can only take on a certain amount of clients)
✅RESPECTING my audience by not making false claims (none of that “make 6 figures with my course” BS)
It's time to keep it honest, REAL, and a little less stressful on ourselves when we're doing all the things in our businesses!
What do you think about the marketing strategies that are getting pushed today?
