Today’s Leadership Lesson, “Ebenezer,” Your Stone of Help.
I’m going to stray from the usual business savvy talk and get real with business owners, particularly those who identify as Christian. I’ve sat back for a substantial amount of time and just observe. I observed from a seat at business tables, closed door meetings, events and side conversations. You see even while this is happening one thing is still not being addressed. That is, small businesses are closing their doors. No not just start ups I mean those who’ve been apart of their communities for decades. Why is that?
You look all around class after class, event after event, mastermind after mastermind, conference after conference, pitch competition after pitch competition, connection after connection. We have a lot of information being passed but no real help being given. Today I’m here to encourage you, your help has come.
We’ve heard Ebenezer in the cultural since of Scrooge. A stingy, condescending individual who has it all but never sacrificial or graceful with what he has. But that is far from what the true Ebenezer is like. 1 Samuel 7:12 identifies Yeshua as the stone of help. He isn’t just a Sunday sermon or a in my case a Biblical name for a business, Exodus!
When God himself gave me the instruction to name his idea for my business Exodus. I never imagined the warfare that it would lead to in my life.
Yet it was speaking all along to what my destination would be, no more reliance on a system built by man, but built on his stone of help!
I want to challenge you as an entrepreneur or business man or woman. You can’t rely on social media, classes, degrees, certifications, and money alone to sustain a real Kingdom Business.
Yes, there will be difficult seasons and cycles in your business journey but your help has come. The most uncommon business strategies given to me by God has been found in scriptures, i.e. the kingdom of God is like….and Relationships.
No matter where you are, Ebenezer always has a way through not necessarily out. Because his business is more than clients; it’s a transformative internal process first, then extends outwardly to communities.
So take it from me, your Exodus will come if you foundation is built on the “stone of help.” Im so glad I don’t need recognition, applaud or things to feel important, my greatest asset in life is Ebenezer, what is yours? Listen closely to Phillip Anthony Mitchell’s insight. You’ll see Ebenezer in a different way.
