It’s our delight to have on our account this week! Heidi’s brightly colored and cozy ceramic work never fails to fill us with joy (no pun intended!) Read more about Heidi below ⤵️

Heidi Fahrenbacher is an artist and educator from Plainwell, MI. She graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and Art History from Kalamazoo College. She is inspired by the contrasts that make colors really pop like neon lights on a dark rainy night, brightly colored flowers against all green foliage, and autumn leaves vibrant against a gray November sky. It is these details of color observation that go into my pottery.

Her work is sold nationwide in galleries and gift shops and has been featured on the Today Show, the Museum of Art and Design, 500 Ceramics Sculptures, and 500 Ceramic Vases. She has written for Pottery Making Illustrated, presented at the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA), and Michigan Mud.

A community member at Arkansas Colleges of Health Education is putting Speedball’s new Boss Ribs to the test. This tool makes centering clay easier on the body and more consistent on the wheel, giving potters the support they need to create without the strain.

Whether you are just learning or throwing every day, Boss Ribs help open the door for more people to enjoy pottery. By reducing fatigue and encouraging healthy technique, the tool makes the art more welcoming, accessible, and sustainable for everyone.

We are so thankful to everyone at ACHE for sharing their time and energy with us. Their passion for education and care for the community inspires us, and we are excited to see how tools like Boss Ribs can support their mission of helping more people thrive through creativity and well-being.

Hey! here, and I'll be doing a takeover with Speedball for the next week! I'm 15 years old and I make ceramic sculptures called "boiis". They are a mythical creature that I made up and using Speedball underglazes helps bring them to life! I'm so grateful for this opportunity to share my work with you all. Thank you to the Speedball team for making wonderful underglazes and allowing me to do this. I can't wait to get started!!!

I love using the underglazes as paint to build the surface of these flat tile paintings. I use various techniques and designs to achieve a depth of surface and I like that these underglazes are so predictable. As I paint I can see the surface coming to life.

Hi and welcome to my takeover of . I am Melissa Mytty , and I am excited to share with you the many ways I utilize Speedball Underglazes in my work.

The truth is that I have been using Speedball underglazes since I was in graduate school at Cranbrook way back in 2007. I was initially drawn to them because of the bright colors and now use them in many ways including painting pots and in staining my clay body. I create limited edition one-of-a-kind pots that I pinch and coil and elaborately decorate.

Please enjoy these images of work from the past and stay tuned to my takeover to see how these underglazes are being used in my studio now! Thank you for following along on my takeover.

Yoohoo, Brooke here from I'm so excited to be taking over for the next 2 weeks!! Hope you're ready for some spooky content! I'm pumpkin obsessed and not afraid to show it 😜🎃 Here's my new and improved Creature of the Night mugs, pre glaze. The thing that makes this design truly come to life is the underglaze moon!

I first learned about underglaze in 2019. Ever since then I've been putting my knowledge of painting onto my pots! My inspiration fluctuates throughout the year, whether it's owls during the snowy Winter, frogs in Summer, or now Halloween in the Fall. I'm always changing it up! I know what you're thinking, why not just paint on canvas or draw on paper? Well, ya can't drink tea from a canvas! The possibilities are endless with clay. Underglaze allows me to bring together my two loves, painting and pottery.
