Guess what day it is? It’s a late day Fun Find Friday!!
Today I got to see my first cicada killer wasp of the year. These guys dig a small hole and leave behind their excavated dirt, catch a cicada and take it into their burrow, eat and lay eggs. Now these may look mean and angry, however they are a docile wasp and don’t sting unless heavily provoked. Now don’t get these confused with European Hornets, they are spicy. Guess what day it is? It’s Fun Find Friday!!!
This week during a treatment the customer asked what were these small black flies that recently started appearing. These are drain moths or what most people refer to as”poop flies”. These little pests usually come out of the sewer or septic systems. The customer had a bathtub that had not been used in quite some time. When a plumbing fixture isn’t used regularly, the trap can dry up. Having water in the trap blocks sewer gases and these types of pest from coming through the drain. If you have a fixture that isn’t being used regularly, run a little water down the drain to prevent this from happening to you. For real local solutions, call a real local expert. 704-880-0755

Guess what day it is? It’s Fun Find Friday!!
This week, went out for a second opinion. Customer says that they are having issues with mice. First company said they found no signs of rodents. I take a look and as soon as I get in the crawl space I see this. This is rub marks from mice, using the same path over and over again. This lead back to the entrance they were using. How many of you have seen this happen at your home or business or on the side of a tree? These are box elder bugs. They live to sunbathe in the hot spots of homes or businesses. I found these guys this week while doing a termite treatment. While they don’t cause any harm or damage, they can be a big nuisance. Hanging out in the hundreds or thousands.
