Grilled nectarines sprinkled with blue cheese, honey, mint, toasted hazelnuts, and sea salt become blissful and vacationy (even if we are not) for aperitif hour or right now. Thanks for the inspiration !

This is the year of embracing the misfits. These fruit do not quite fit the retail mold in size or shape, but are just as delicious! With our whacky fruit season this year in Colorado there’s been early freezes and limited markets, so we’ve had to learn a little bit more about the fruit food system in our state and come to love every single fruit that’s picked from the tree, so to speak.

If you’re one of my CSA members or shop at Yampa Valley Foods, you’ll see this misfit label periodically. Know that it just means they’re just a delicious, and often a money saver!

🍑🍈🤗The first week of being back slinging fruit has been incredible! We’re starting off the summer indulging in apricots, will soon be swimming in peaches, and then blessed by our beloved French cantaloupes.

I’m incredibly thankful to all my CSA members and partners to help spread Rancho Durazno fruit throughout the yampa valley!

📣The Rose West Homestead Farmstand opens this week, so get ready to stare with wide-eyed-wonder, like this cute kiddo, at all of the local offerings I will have for you!

🗓️The Opening Day will be this Thursday, June 18th! It will be open on Thursdays throughout the summer from 10am-6pm.

📍The farmstand is located at 40589 Steamboat Dr. Follow the signs in Steamboat II!

Here’s the quick and dirty about what’s offered at the farmstand, but you’ll have to come by and see it for yourself to really experience it! Some items may change based on availability, and there will be more offerings throughout the season.
