🎶 A LITTLE BEHIND-THE-SCENES REALITY OF RUNNING A SMALL BUSINESS…
When we advertise live music, we don’t just put a name on Facebook and hope for the best.
We schedule extra staff.
We plan our day around it.
We advertise and promote the musician.
We prepare for a larger crowd.
And most importantly, our customers make plans based on what WE tell them is happening.
So when a musician simply doesn’t show up—with little or no communication—it affects far more than a three-hour music set.
It affects our staff. It costs our business money. It changes the experience our guests were expecting. And it puts our reputation on the line because we are the ones who advertised it.
We completely understand that emergencies happen. Life happens. We will always have compassion for legitimate circumstances.
But repeatedly not showing up for a scheduled commitment is different.
We work incredibly hard to build Sterling Valley Vineyards and create a place where people can come together, enjoy live music, support local talent, and have a great experience. We also work hard to promote the musicians who play here.
All we ask in return is the same professionalism and respect for our business, our staff, and our customers.
To the musicians who consistently show up, communicate, promote their shows, and give our guests a great experience—THANK YOU. ❤️ We appreciate you more than you know.
And to our customers: when something like this happens, please know we are just as disappointed as you are. Sometimes circumstances are simply outside of our control.
Small businesses depend on people keeping their commitments. ❤️🍷
