🔥 Fire History Mini-Series🔥
Historically Frequent Fire in Red Pine Stands of the Northeastern U.S.

🗓 May 6, 2026
⏰Noon–1 p.m. CT

New research suggests fire was historically common in Northeastern U.S. forests and that reintroducing it through prescribed burns could reduce fuel loads, increase biodiversity, and help prevent future wildfire risks as the climate changes. Join Chris Guiterman, Ph.D., Research Scientist at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Happy Arbor Day! 🌳

Today is a reminder that trees are more than just part of the scenery—they’re essential to how we live, build, and grow. From the air we breathe to the materials that shape our homes, trees support us in ways we often overlook.

Responsible tree utilization matters. When we use wood and forest resources thoughtfully - harvesting, replanting, conserving, and managing forests sustainably - we create a cycle that benefits both people and the planet.

So whether you plant a tree, learn more about sustainable forestry, or simply take a moment to appreciate the ones around you, you’re part of that cycle.

Grow something today - knowledge, appreciation, or even a seed! 🌱
