This lady in the wheelchair is Lynn Bear. She is 86 years old and has been in the business 55 years. She was in the Top Ten and earned the trip to Hawaii. She has earned free trips multiple times.

It’s never too late to succeed.

This MK business is for ALL women, of ALL ages, and ALL walks of life…anyone who wants to make their dreams a reality. There’s no better time to have a Mary Kay business.

Mostly because I love great food and also because it means my husband is cooking! If I could pick one or two favorites, I would say shish kebabs or hobo dinners. Just because they're fun.

…The REST of the story.
(Reposting from 2025, still a great read)

So, we are at MK Seminar in Charlotte, & it’s the “pink bubble” at its best. Beauty products, rekindling friendships, celebrating champions, beautiful gowns, entertainment, top-notch training. It’s truly a beautiful thing.
Mostly.

In case you missed the memo, Dave (who normally travels with me) is unable to attend this year, due to his hamstring injury🥺 Thankfully, Mary Kay told me I could transfer his ticket to someone else’s spouse here at Charlotte. We just needed to process it like an on-site registration. I found a friend who wanted to bring her spouse and the plan was perfect.
Mostly.

Until it wasn’t.

Due to a technicality, MK would not honor the transfer. My friend was still able to register her husband on site, but yours truly is out $250 for nothing.

I can usually spin anything into sunshine & rainbows… But this was really a kick in the gut.

😩 Maybe you have felt that way once or twice?

Here’s the thing. WHAT MATTERS MOST IS WHAT WE DO NEXT. (Read that again.)

I took some time to feel all my feels. Really glad I have waterproof mascara on today. But then, I get a call out of the blue from one of my favorite humans and she has a friend who wants to join our team.

🥲And I’m crying again, but this time, happy tears. Because it was a beautiful reminder that things are never hopeless. We are never abandoned. There’s always one more life we can touch and inspire and maybe change for the better.

Life knocks you down.
That’s just life.
STAYING down… that’s a choice.

I’m thankful that I made a new friend today. And I’m thankful that Susie happened to catch the moment when I decided to “get back up”.
