Today is Transit Driver Appreciation Day! Thank the men and women who help keep America moving, our roads less congested and our air cleaner.

When I led the community engagement and branding for the launch of Douglas County’s fixed route bus service, Connect Douglas,the first of its kind in the Atlanta region in more than decade, I always remembered that the drivers were the primary brand ambassadors and central to the riders’ experience. Congratulations to Chairwoman Carlotta Harrell and the Henry County Government on being the first county in the Atlanta Region to craft a shared vision for mobility with 100% participation from its municipalities in Georgia Commute Options. The team highlighted the Atlanta Children's Shelter and donated a sizeable contribution to support the organization’s efforts to break the cycle of poverty for families facing homelessness. On December 1st at 6 PM, CAP/ADID (Central Atlanta Progress/Atlanta Downtown Improvement District) is hosting a virtual public meeting about a proposed bus only lane on Courtland Street between John Portman Boulevard and M.L. King Jr. Drive. The lane, which is consistent with recommendations of the Downtown Atlanta Master Plan, will improve transit reliability for buses traveling through Downtown.
