“You can never get too good at the basics of cooking”
I was told by a former executive chef and mentor of mine.
Searing properly, Seasoning in layers, Controlling heat, Cutting clean, Tasting as you go. These are the “boring” reps that make everything else look effortless. Fancy techniques don’t save a dish fundamentals do. If you want your food to level up, don’t chase complexity. Chase consistency in the basics.
“Perfection is a lot of little things, done right.”
