Your employees are already using AI. The question is whether they're doing it safely. Three rules every business should establish:

1. Never paste confidential customer, financial, or HR data into public AI tools.

2. Require employees to verify AI-generated information before using it.

3. Define which AI tools are approved for business use.

Most AI risks don't come from malicious employees. They come from good employees trying to work faster without clear guidance.

"We're too small to be targeted" might be the most common myth in cybersecurity, but getting secure doesn't have to be overwhelming.

Cybersecurity can feel intimidating when it’s hidden behind tech jargon and scary headlines. But when you break it down, reducing your risk usually comes down to simple, everyday habits.

Take a look at the board, how many of these red flags are lurking in your daily routine? Spotting them is half the battle.

Classic "Addition by Subtraction" story.

A client came to us looking to get their software programs to talk with each other. What we found was a process problem. Employees were spending hours every week manually moving information between systems. After redesigning the workflow and automating key steps, the team recovered several hours of productive time every day. AND, seeing it mapped out helped them identify whole areas of the process that were redundant.

We were still able to integrate their systems in the new streamlined process, and they're saving hours of time each week.

Technology doesn't always create value by adding something new. Sometimes it creates value by removing unnecessary work.

You clicked THAT email link?

That stomach-drop moment when you click a link in an email and instantly realize, "Wait... I wasn't expecting an urgent invoice from an unknown sender." We’ve all been there.
Phishing attacks are sophisticated, and even the most cautious people make mistakes.

What should you actually do if you click a weird link at work?

1. Disconnect immediately: Unplug your Ethernet cable or turn off Wi-Fi. This stops potential malware from communicating with external servers or spreading across the network.
2. Do NOT enter credentials: If the link brought you to a login page, don't type a single thing. If you already entered a password, let IT know right away so it can be reset securely.
3. Report it without fear: The single worst thing you can do is pretend it didn't happen out of embarrassment.

A quick heads-up for business leaders:
If your employees are terrified of getting reprimanded for failing a phishing test or clicking a real bad link, they’ll stay silent. Creating a no-judgment culture around cybersecurity encourages fast reporting and speed is everything when containing a potential incident.

Mistakes happen. What matters is working together to fix them!

One question every leadership team should ask is, "What technology expenses are we expecting next year?" If the answer is unclear, start with these categories:

1. Aging computers and devices
2. Software renewals
3. Security and compliance requirements.

Technology becomes far less stressful when major expenses are planned instead of discovered.

Our clients have us for technology lifecycle management, so reach out if you need to make the most of your budget while avoiding tech pitfalls and surprises.

Do your core values involve PB&J? Ours do.

Our world is so detailed and technical that we need to communicate precisely, not missing a single step. Kind of like trying to explain to someone how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Miscommunication means it gets messy.

In everything we do, we choose our words carefully to make sure solutions are accurate and attainable. How about you?

When it comes to local infrastructure, cybersecurity isn't just about protecting data, it's about protecting the community.
We recently had the privilege of partnering with a local water district that is leading by example.

They proactively chose to align their organization with the NIST cybersecurity framework—the gold standard for digital data protection.

Together, we collaborated to build robust, practical cybersecurity policies designed to safeguard their operations, secure sensitive data, and ensure long-term resilience for the community they serve.

Huge shoutout to their team for taking the initiative and proving that proactive leadership is the best defense. We’re proud to be your partner in keeping our local infrastructure safe and secure!

The clock read 11:42 PM, and David just wanted to go to sleep.

He had a mountain of client data to parse before a 9:00 AM presentation, and his eyes were burning. Desperate to speed things up, he did what millions of tired employees do every single night: he opened a tab, found a free AI tool, and pasted the entire spreadsheet into the prompt box.

Three seconds later, his summary was ready. David closed his laptop, satisfied.

He didn't realize he had just handed proprietary company data over to a public server. He wasn't a hacker, and he had no malicious intent—he was just a guy trying to do his job a little faster.

Right now, this exact scene is playing out across 98% of businesses. It's a massive, invisible blind spot: no policy, no monitoring, and zero protection.

That's why we've created a document that defines what Shadow AI is, real cases happening in the wild, and how businesses can protect themselves before the next leak. We're even rolling out a sample AI Usage Policy to all our clients so they can stay educated on the latest threates and stay protected.

P.S. The above is a dramatized story, but isn't a hypothetical future risk. Private data could be leaving your building tonight.

We were thrilled to be out on the golf course as an official sponsor of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Charity Golf Event. Between the fantastic networking, the great weather, and some seriously competitive chipping at our booth, it was an unforgettable day.

More importantly, the event brought our business community together to make a real difference for the Stockton Food Bank.
A massive thank you to the organizers, the players, and everyone who stopped by to connect with us and congratulations to Dean and AJ, the winners of our standing desk and walking pad raffle.

We’re already looking forward to the next years event!

5 minutes will give you peace of mind with our complimentary dark web scan.

A company domain represents your brand, your team, and your client relationships. But if employee credentials wind up in a third-party data breach or on a list for sale on the dark web, that domain might be vulnerable.

We’re offering local businesses a complimentary dark web scan. We’ll analyze your domain to identify if any associated passwords, emails, or data have been exposed, giving you information you need to secure your accounts. No obligations.
Send us a DM or leave a comment below to request your scan.
