Protect your business from cyber risk and ransom threats with our complimentary, personalized Cyber Risk Roadmap (link below).

With the rise in AI-driven attacks, changes to California law, and stricter insurance requirements, we decided that 2026 was the right time to launch our Cyber Risk Initiative.

Most organizations don't have a clear picture of their risk until a crisis hits. We’re changing that by helping you identify vulnerabilities before they become problems. Seeing issues earlier keeps decisions calm, planned, and less disruptive.

There is no cost to you, our goal is to protect businesses in our own backyard.

"I have Cyber Insurance, so I’m covered...right?"
Maybe. But here’s the fear nobody talks about: If your "box-checking" on the insurance application doesn't match your actual tech environment, they won't pay the claim.

Insurance companies are getting stricter. They aren't just looking for a policy; they are looking for proof of security and they’re leveraging AI and APIs to continually evaluate your overall posture.

We don't just set up your tech or fix your printer; we help ensure your security posture actually meets your insurance requirements. We bridge the gap between your policy's fine print and your daily operations.

Don't wait for a breach to find out your "coverage" has a hole in it.

Traditional degrees often struggle to keep pace with how fast technology moves. In 2026, the real advantage for a local business isn't just having a diploma on the wall, it's having a team that can adapt in real-time.

We’re fortunate to have a resource in our own backyard that focuses on exactly that: San Joaquin Delta College’s Noncredit Training.

These programs are straightforward, tuition-free, and designed to bridge the gap between current skills and the demands of our local economy. Here are the tracks that stand out for the Central Valley right now:

• Industrial Automation & Control Systems: With Stockton serving as a massive logistics hub, these courses on robotics and automation programming are essential for anyone involved in manufacturing and production.

• Digital Media Content Entrepreneurship: This goes beyond "social media." It’s a deep dive into marketing, advertising, and multimedia production designed to help businesses build a professional online presence.

Our team is in Stockton because we believe in the talent and the resources this city provides. You don't need a massive budget to find momentum; you just need to know where the tools are located.

Are your browser extensions stealing your data? 108 Chrome browser extensions have recently been discovered stealing Google IDs, Telegram data, and creating persistent backdoors.
These aren't obviously shady apps, they appear as legitimate games, translation tools, and productivity sidebars. Once installed, they used a shared backend to steal user data and even bypass built-in security protection on sites like YouTube and TikTok.

Browser extensions may appear legitimate at install time but evolve into active threats long after they’ve gained user trust so it's a good idea to audit your extensions on a regular basis.

What you should do right now:

Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions. Remove any extensions from the following developers: Yana Project, GameGen, SideGames, Rodeo Games, or InterAlt.

Check Your Permissions: myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Review "Your Devices" and sign out of any suspicious or old sessions.

Check out the list of extensions here:

The AI takeover hasn't happened yet, but the "Fear of Becoming Obsolete" is real. In 2026, the question isn’t whether a machine can do the work, it’s about which work matters most.

At Crown, we’ve been testing LLMs and AI tools for years. We’ve found that by offloading procedural tasks, you gain the bandwidth for the things an algorithm simply cannot replicate. You don't need to out-calculate the machine to stay relevant; you just need to focus on the work that moves the needle:

Critical Thinking: Providing the judgment that turns raw data into a strategy.

Emotional Intelligence: Building the trust that lives in the silence between emails.

Strategic Intuition: Utilizing your lived experience to navigate what software can’t predict.

The goal isn't to work like a machine, it's to use it as a force multiplier so your team can focus on the high-level strategy and human connection that actually drives growth.

Have 15 minutes today? Do this for your IT security:

✔ Turn on multi-factor authentication (MFA) for your email + finance tools
✔ Remove former employees’ access (yes, double-check)
✔ Update your admin passwords (use a password manager)

That’s it.

These 3 moves eliminate a big percentage of common attack paths, and help you close potential gaps in your IT systems.

For a full review of your systems, we've started a free, no obligation Cyber Risk Initiative and are giving away a comprehensive systems pe*******on test and Cyber Risk Roadmap. We would love to make sure your business is protected.

Deepfakes and voice cloning are no longer the stuff of movies. Scammers have developed sophisticated “vishing-as-a-service” models, complete with dashboards that enable number spoofing, voice cloning, and the data harvesting needed to send hyper-personalized emails.

They aren’t just trying to mimic your voice, they’re trying to weaponize the trust you’ve built with your team and turn it into a breach.

If you receive an urgent call from your IT team or leadership asking you to do something out of the norm, like entering your password on a website or initiating a funds transfer, hang up, and call them back using a number you already trust.

It’s a simple step, but one of the most effective ways to confirm you’re speaking to the real person, not a scammer who doesn’t know your team never says “no” to Mexican food.

We've heard from so many clients that they don't want to be left behind when so many AI tools are launching rapidly. At the same time, they know poor quality AI can cause headaches, waste, and bad data.

We had a great opportunity to hear from industry experts and developers this week at Kaseya Connect, and we're excited and hopeful for Kaseya Intelligence.

One example: this will empower our email filtering system so that if a client clicks on a malicious link, our platform can automatically lock down their accounts across all platforms so that a mistake doesn't turn into a crisis.

We can't wait to evaluate this ourselves and get up to our elbows in testing this very promising AI-driven tool. Looking forward to putting these to work to empower our clients!

It’s officially Spring and that means it’s time for Spring cleaning! After you’re done vacuuming behind the couch, take a few minutes to clean up your digital space.

1. Tidy Your Desktop
Treat your computer desktop like a physical one. Delete old shortcuts and move loose files into dated folders or cloud storage.
2. Deep Clean Your Browser
Clear your cache, cookies, and old plug-ins/extensions. This is the fastest way to fix a slow internet experience and protect yourself from extensions that may be vulnerable to exploitation.
3. Purge Your Apps
Go through your apps and delete anything you haven’t used in 6 months. Removing unused software will drive space and reduce the number of apps running in the background at any given moment.
4. Tidy Up Your Files
Sort through old files, delete what you no longer need and backup any files that are important. Once you’ve removed unnecessary data, try organizing your remaining files into a system that’s easy for you to understand. An organized system will help you not only manage your current data but also help prevent accumulating clutter in the future.
5. Enable automatic updates and update your drivers
Now you need to make sure that your operating system is current and that you have automatic updates enabled so you don’t have to think about it going forward. This helps keep your computer secure, and the updates can also fix bugs, improve performance, and add new features.
6. Recycle!
When you’ve finished purging files, shortcuts, downloads, and unused applications, right-click your Recycle Bin icon and select Empty Recycle Bin.

We had a rare opportunity at the recent California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce business policy summit. Listening to representatives from over 130 Hispanic Chambers helped us understand firsthand what businesses in our own backyard are navigating, from legislative policy shifts to day-to-day operational pressures.

California's business policy landscape has a real impact on our customers' bottom lines. That's why we're always asking: how can technology help them not just survive, but grow? The conversations we had reinforced why our work in strategic IT matters. We left with fresh insights and a renewed commitment to serving the communities around us.

And of course we got to hear California's gubernatorial candidates speak, you can watch the livestream here⬇️
