Pavement Sealing Work Planned on Route N in Cedar Co. April 15

When: 7 a.m.-4 p.m., Wednesday, April 15

Where: Route N in Cedar County between Missouri Route 39 and Cedar County Route J north of Stockton

What: MoDOT crews sealing Route N with a mixture of rock and oil

Traffic Impacts:

Both lanes of Route N CLOSED in sections where crews are working
Drivers will encounter pilot cars directing them through the work zone. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
No signed detours, drivers urged to find alternate routes
Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

A seal coat is not an alternative to an asphalt overlay, but is planned for this road as an economical way to maintain and preserve the roadway. The treatments keep a road from deteriorating and will extend its life.

Just a reminder, please take the survey if you have not done so. This survey will provide the first step in the Police Department to look into changing some of the operations and focuses.

We have been asked this question multiple times, so we wanted to provide an official response regarding whether we have hired a new reporter.

A recent article mentioned a well-known Cedar County resident as a reporter for the Cedar County Republican. While we are excited to confirm that we have hired a new freelance reporter, the individual named in the St. Clair County Courier article is not our new hire.

Stay tuned— we will be introducing our newest team member in an upcoming issue.
