This is big game hunting at its best. Shawnee Ridge Hunting offers exotic big game hunting in Southern Ohio, including Russian Boar, fallow deer, red stag, corsican ram, Texas dall and much more. We are one of the few Ohio Hunting Preserves and exotic hunting outfitters to offer such a wide variety of big game animals in one area to hunt. We cater to all hunters! Family founded, owned and operated since 1973 and located in the foothills of Appalachia, we’re one of the largest preserves in Southern Ohio and our rugged terrain is enough to test the most avid hunter. In addition to the hunts offered on our property, we book African game safaris. From impala or leopards to crocodiles and klipspringer, or whether you’re a rifle or a bow hunter, we cater to all interests and skill sets. Our friend Charlie brought down his grandsons Braxton and Coen, along with their dad Caleb to do some hunting today. The animals were tenacious, but not as much as the boys who stuck with it and were successful in the end. Plus, everyone had a great time! Time in the outdoors with family is the best. Period.

Peter and Jeff arrived yesterday for their hunt. Peter's first time here was last fall, Jeff's was in 1982, so, I don't remember how many times he's hunted with us lol. We looked over some rams and finally spotted a Texas Dall for Peter, which he took in fine fashion. Jeff was up next, and we eventually found another Dall with a Black Hawaiian but they weren't having it and off they went. We eventually found them again but the universe conspired to make sure no opportunities presented themselves for a shot and we finally had to call it a day after they rocketed straight up the hill and out of sight. This morning Jeff connected with a nice hog and then a different Dall with a group of rams were spotted later and he sealed the deal. We appreciate these fellows driving in from about 12 hours away to hunt with us specifically. Thank you Jeff and Peter!

Finished taxidermy part one.

"Do you take in taxidermy from other hunts?"
This is a question I get asked every year, and, the answer is yes! We took in Whitetail, Black Bear, Elk, a River Otter, and a Mink last season and we are always willing to take in outside work, however, we don't do birds. I don't get enough calls for them, and lack experience to feel comfortable doing birds. Mammals, certainly, and fish I have a person I sub-contract with. So, if you want to bring us your whitetail, please do, and if you are planning a hunt in Nirth America or abroad reach out and we can discuss the best way to ship your trophy back.

Rod and his wife Terri arrived this morning for their first hunt with us, recommended by our good friend Sam.
Rod was undecided between a boar or a ram, but once he saw this handsome Black Hawaiian ram the decision was made. Terri was happy about the choice as well. I believe a boar will be on the agenda next time!
