Born and raised in Milford, Buddy Prete is a 1989 graduate of Jonathan Law High School and 1993 graduate of Fairfield University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He is a property owner and President of Ultimate Interiors Floor Covering in Downtown Milford, having started Ultimate Interiors in 1992 while still attending Fairfield University. Buddy volunteers at various fundraisers for local and
international scholarships and programs. He has been a member of Milford Rotary since 1997 having been a past Board Member as well as Site Manager for 10 years of the highly successful Annual Lobster Bake fundraiser. He is the recipient of various Rotary “Service Above Self” Awards and Governor’s Distinguished Service citation. Buddy was treasurer of Milford Progress, Inc. and served as the liaison to the Milford Chamber of Commerce Board of which he is presently a member. He is also a member of, and advisor to, the Downtown Milford Business Association. In addition, Buddy has been a member of the Milford Columbus Committee since 2012 and its president from 2015-2024. Until recently, he sat on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Milford. As a recipient of the 2011 United Way Community Builder - Spirit of Milford Award, Buddy prides himself on his willingness and ability to work with all parties for the common good. He is a graduate of Milford’s Citizens Police Academy, and in 2012 was recognized as one of Connecticut Magazine’s “40 Under 40”. Most recently, he became the COO of the newly created family business “Shopping Anyway”, a downloadable app and online platform to help Non-Profits better communicate their needs with their donors. Buddy has been married to Christina (Rackiewicz) Prete, also a lifelong Milford resident, since 1997. Christina is also a graduate of Fairfield University with a B.S. She has been actively involved with numerous non-profits since high school. She served on the Board of Directors with the American Red Cross in Milford and Connecticut, and the Board of Directors of the Milford Education Foundation. She was also a Girl Scout Leader and an officer and member of several PTAs. Currently, Christina is the Minority Leader of the Milford Board of Education, the founder of Shopping Anyway, and a member of All in for Milford with a focus on food insecurity. Together they have two children, Makenna, age 24, a Financial Representative for Fidelity and also a Fairfield U graduate, and Matthew age 21, who is a carpentry apprentice with the Carpenters Local 326.
