Small Business Owners, I beg you...
DON'T DESIGN YOUR LOGO ON CANVA!
Sure, Canva can be useful for a lot of things, but when it comes to logo design, you are way better off hiring a professional graphic designer.
Here's why...
1. You can't trademark a design made from a Canva template. That means anyone else in the world can use a nearly identical design to your logo! Your logo needs to be unique to you!
2. Canva templates are trendy! And while that might work to get eyes on your social posts, a logo should last for YEARS. It needs to be easily recognizable and TIMELESS. Think of some of the biggest brands in the world and their logos. Some have been around for DECADES and still look as fresh today as the day they were made.
3. Canva graphics are primarily intended for digital use. Which is great for your social and website. But if you want to enlarge your logo for signage, banners, billboards--anything larger than a t-shirt, it's going to end up blurry, pixelated, and look horrible.
4. You likely aren't a trained graphic designer. So if you try to create your logo on Canva from scratch...I'm sorry, but it's going to suck. There's just no other way to put it. There's a reason people go to college to study graphic design.
5. Your logo is often the first impression people have of your brand. It's worth investing some money in! Your logo isn't a part of your business you need to try to cut corners on. If anything, it's something you probably need to set aside a some EXTRA funds for.
The list goes on, but at the end of the day your logo is worth making the investment in a quality logo made by a professional graphic designer.
(And yes, before you comment--I made the image below intentionally bad)
