🍎 We finally picked our winner!

We honestly didn't expect this to be as hard as it was. We received so many nominations for some really amazing teachers throughout Harford County, and every time we thought we had made a decision, we'd read another one and start all over again.

After a LOT of back and forth, we're excited to announce that our $500 Classroom Shopping Spree is going to…

🎉 Julia Wilkins, a 7th grade teacher at Edgewood Middle School! 🎉

Julia's nomination was actually pretty simple, and I think that's part of why we kept coming back to it. She was described as hardworking, kind, patient, and a teacher who always shows up for her kids.

Thank you SO much to everyone who sent in a nomination. We really did read them all, and choosing one teacher was incredibly hard. There are a lot of really good people teaching our kids here in Harford County, and we wish we could have picked more than one.

🚛 Exciting Improvements Are Coming to Your Trash Collection Service! 🚛

Over the next few weeks, we'll begin introducing our new Automated Side-Load Collection Truck on select residential routes.

We understand that change can be an adjustment, but this investment is being made to better serve our customers by providing safer, more efficient, and more reliable trash collection for years to come.

What to Expect

If your route will be serviced by our new side-load truck, you'll receive:

✅ A sticker placed on your trash container showing the correct placement for automated collection.

✅ A follow-up email with simple instructions and everything you need to know before the new truck begins servicing your neighborhood.

We know, we know, we have always told customers "Handles towards the road." and while that would help our helpers, this truck requires handles toward your home.

Our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible while continuing to provide the dependable service you've come to expect. Most customers will only need to make a few simple adjustments to container placement.

This truck will NOT be implemenetd in townhome communites, or neighborhoods with mostly street parking.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we invest in better equipment to better serve our communities. If you have any questions, our Customer Service team is always happy to help.

If you are a Friday customer please read entire post! Different scenarios for your specific locations

🇺🇸 Holiday Service Update – Friday, July 3

Bartenfelder Sanitation planned to be be open and operate on our normal Friday schedule however,
Due to the landfill closing early because of the extreme heat, and to get our employees home earlier, we will ONLY be collecting trash on Friday, July 3.
Recycling routes will NOT be collected tomorrow, we will collect any extra recycling you have next Friday.

Please note:

Customers in the City of Havre de Grace and Cecil County WILL HAVE their scheduled recycling collection.

City of Havre de Grace resident: NORMAL COLLECTION

Cecil county resident: RECYCLING WILL BE COLLECTED

Harford county resident: NO RECYCLING COLLECTION

Next week: OPERATING ON NORMAL SCHEDULE

We appreciate your understanding as these changes are necessary due to the landfill’s adjusted operating hours to ensure all trash materials are able to be collected.
