Accessibility is not limited to ramps, elevators, or physical spaces.

It also shows up in how we communicate, plan, meet, teach, hire, train, and support people.

Sometimes the most meaningful accessibility changes are simple: clearer instructions, captions, flexible communication, quiet spaces, or giving people more time to process.

Slide 1:
This is accessibility too.
Accessibility is bigger than most people realize.

Slide 2:
Clear communication
Written instructions, plain language, and expectations people can understand.

Slide 3:
Flexible ways to participate
Speaking, writing, chat, extra processing time, or contributing after a meeting.

Slide 4:
Accessible environments
Quiet spaces, captions, readable materials, and fewer unnecessary barriers.

Slide 5:
Accessibility is not extra.
It is how we make sure more people can participate, contribute, and belong.

Maybe they’re not difficult.
Maybe the system is.

Before labeling someone as difficult, unmotivated, distracted, resistant, or disengaged, it is worth asking:
What barrier might they be navigating that no one else can see?

Sometimes the issue is not effort.
Sometimes the issue is access, communication, environment, or support.

Accessibility is often talked about as “the right thing to do.”

And it is.

But it is also good business.

A 2018 Accenture study found that companies leading in disability inclusion saw 28% higher revenue over four years compared to their peers. That should make every organization pause.

Because accessibility is not just about compliance or checking a box. It is about building workplaces where people can actually do their best work.

The CDC reports that 1 in 4 U.S. adults lives with a disability, yet many employees still hesitate to share what they need because they worry about stigma, judgment, or being treated differently.

That means the responsibility cannot fall only on employees to speak up.

Organizations need to create cultures where support is normal, differences are respected, and accommodations are easier to access from the start.

When people feel safe and supported, they are more likely to stay engaged, contribute ideas, and thrive.

And when employees thrive, businesses are stronger because of it.

Workplace accessibility doesn’t have to be complicated—it can be simple, practical, and highly impactful when you have the right understanding.

Join us for this important session with presenter Julie Collison, M.Ed., owner of Ingenuity Unlimited , where we’ll break down the ADA in real-world terms and help employers better understand who is covered, what “reasonable accommodation” really means, and how to confidently handle common workplace situations.

We’ll also dive into topics like visible and invisible disabilities, neurodiversity, and the realities of disclosure, along with what it truly takes to build a workplace culture that is inclusive and affirming.

You’ll leave with practical, real-life strategies you can start using right away to better support your team and strengthen your organization.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain clarity and confidence in creating a more accessible workplace.
