We got locked into Wix. We got out. Here's what we learned.

Long before Beyond Marketing and Web Design existed, we built our very first business page on Wix, and years later, this company's page too. So we've seen this platform from every angle: as beginners, and now as professionals.

Here's what most people don't realize until they try to leave: Wix is built so you can't take your site with you. There's no real export option. You can't download your actual site files, your design, or your code, because Wix doesn't build your site in standard web code you can move elsewhere. Everything lives inside their proprietary system, tied to their servers, on purpose. If you ever want to switch platforms, the "official" answer is: start over from scratch.

We recently saw exactly how deep that problem runs. After years of unresolved mobile display issues that Wix support only ever patched temporarily, one of our site's mobile version broke badly, showing outdated information and layout errors to visitors, while desktop looked fine. That's not a one-off glitch. It's what happens when a platform prioritizes keeping you locked in over giving you real control of your own site.

So we did something about it: we extracted our design in full, pixel-for-pixel, and rebuilt it independently, with pure code, no added Wix bloat, cleaner, faster, and fully customizable design, completely off Wix.

We started this journey over a year ago. Although this is not the original goal, we are still on the right path. We had a lot to learn, many pivots, losses, and complete failures but we made adjustments, and KEPT MOVING FORWARD!

Beyond GPU Manager was just a personal need. We built it, it worked, so we kept building on it. Then we had to figure out how to actually publish on an app store. So we figured that out too!

Today we are a Microsoft Approved App Developer with a real app on the Microsoft store!!!. We are super Excited to keep publishing our custom builds.
