FROM THE WINY RADIO NEWSROOM: (KILLINGLY) A Brooklyn woman was arrested for Operating a Drug Factory after Troopers located multiple different types of narcotics in a vehicle last month, according to Connecticut State Police.
On May 20th, at approximately 11:30 PM, Troopers from Troop D responded to a possibly unconscious female occupant in a motor vehicle in the area of 12 Center Street in the Town of Killingly.
Upon arrival contact was made with both female occupants and both occupants were alert and conscious during police contact.
Police say the female operator was identified from prior involvement for possession of controlled substances. The vehicle being operated was also known to Troopers for its involvement with controlled substance activities in the past.
When Troopers approached the accused, identified as 34-year-old Jazmine Tyler of Brooklyn, she began making furtive movements, turning away from Troopers and frantically pushing unknown items into a bag by her side.
Police report that Tyler was in possession of a glass pipe with residue consistent with Crack Co***ne usage. On the interior of the vehicle were several items of drug paraphemalia in plain view to include metal picks and glass bongs that had residue consistent with Crack Co***ne usage as well. Based on these circumstances, it was determined that there was probable cause to search the vehicle.
In searching the vehicle the following was located by Troopers; 22 grams of Crack Co***ne, 12 grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms, .7 grams of powdered Fentanyl, 50ml of liquid Fentanyl, various other items of drug paraphemalia(picks, pipes, and bongs all having residue consistent with Crack Co***ne usage), scales, and excess cash.
Tyler was arrested and transported back to Troop D, where she was processed and charged with Use of Drug Paraphernalia, two different Sale of a Narcotic Substance charges, Operation of a Drug Factory, and Possession of a Control Substance with this being her 3rd offense.
Tyler was released on a $10,000 Cash-Surety Bond and is scheduled to appear at Danielson Superior Court on Thursday June 4th.
