One of the key things in causing your life is your focus. Many of us spend a lot of time and energy on focusing on what we don't want or on how things shouldn't be the way they are. It is ridiculous to say something shouldn't have happened or be the way it is. Think about it, you are actually trying to change history. What is has already happened. A key focus is always to look at now what. How do I achieve what it is I want given that things are the way they are. This redirects your thoughts to solutions. When I turned 40 I decided to doing something out of the ordinary for me, something a little riskier. We happened to meet a couple where the man did tandem sky diving. I arranged with him to go skydiving the last Friday in July. He called me at 9 that morning to see if I was ready to go and informed me that the only thing that would stop us would be the weather. I said okay, I'll leave you in charge of the weather. He called at 11 to say that rain was forecasted. We looked at other possible dates to do this and there were none that worked for both of us. I was committed to doing this so he said he would call back in an hour. When he called at noon he said not only was it going to rain, but there were going to be thunderstorms making it impossible to take a plane up for skydiving. I said that was fine and I was still committed to going skydiving. Would he be willing to stay for I was coming up (Pepperell was about an hour away). He agreed, and said don't be disappointed if it didn't happen. I called my husband and he agreed to support me, cancelled his remaining patients. I packed up my four kids, picked him up and we drove out to Pepperell. I had no attachment to the result and was just living into my vision of skydiving. The most interesting thing happened on the way up. the rain stopped and the sky started to clear. By the time we arrived in Pepperell the sun was shining brightly. The bonus I was on the final jump and they decided to take the bigger plane up and we went 5000 ft. higher. It was a magnificent experience.

On March 31-April 2nd, Hollister Institute, a division of Hollister Staffing, hosted its first "Effective Communication 3 Day Series" for fifteen contract employees. Created and facilitated by Francesca Radbill, the event provided participants with awareness and tools that lead to greater communication, productivity and realized potential. As Radbill points out, "It is the people that make this event special. Their willingness to share and their commitment to each other allowed for an incredible 3 days. Quite often we lose sight of our own value and ability to contribute. This program is built to untrain some ways of thinking, patterns and habits that most of us have as a part of who we are. There is so much untapped potential out there and our goal is to help release it."

One attendee shared:

"Being new to Boston, the Hollister Seminar, "Effective Communication" was not only highly educational, but also a welcome opportunity to meet professionals from different backgrounds, cultures and age groups. Even though I still find myself realizing that "where I am and where I want to be" can be two different things, I felt elated to be among a group of "emotionally intelligent" individuals. The sheltered atmosphere (assured privacy) at the Hollister Institute and allowed for authentic emotions to blossom, which may have appeared as initial embarrassment, but, definitely, resulted in empowerment! Empowered to confront oneself with one's "self-imposed limits", one's "inner saboteur", and the satisfaction of revitalized accountability for one's thoughts and actions. "Thank you to the Hollister Institute for providing such an opportunity!"

"Recognizing that we are in the middle of one of the largest skills gaps in decades, by offering a program that focuses on personal development and effective communication, we are able to contribute toward strengthening candidate quality and self-assurance", says Leigh Nicholas, Program Director of the Hollister Institute.

Train your perception to translate the world through an uplifting lens!

: Happiness begins at a cellular level-- The cells in your body react to everything that your mind says. Negativity brings down your immune system. Activate "happy cells" by embracing the positive. Deliberately focusing on good feeling thoughts allows your body's cells to dance to their natural rhythm of wellbeing.
