World changer, let's talk about the confidence gap for a minute.

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)

Here's what I've learned about self-doubt: it rarely announces itself as fear. It shows up dressed as something far more respectable.

Sometimes it wears the costume of humility — “I don’t want to seem prideful” — when God never once asked you to shrink so someone else could feel comfortable.

Sometimes it wears the costume of realism — “I’m just being practical” — when it’s really just a way to talk yourself out of what God already confirmed in your heart.

Sometimes it’s the costume of preparation — “I just need to learn a little more first” — a permanent holding pattern dressed up as diligence.

None of those costumes are wisdom, friend. They're fear, dressed up nicely enough that we don't recognize it for what it is.

Friend, can I be honest with you about something?

There was a season when I sat at my desk, tears streaming down my face, to-do lists scattered everywhere — wondering if I had completely misheard God's calling on my life.

The struggle was so real.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

That verse became my lifeline. But here's what I had to learn the hard way:

Sometimes the "strength" God provides doesn't come as a supernatural download straight to our hearts.

Sometimes it comes through the guidance, wisdom, and support of others He strategically places in our path.

Friend, I want to make sure you understand something crucial:

The goal of leadership self-awareness isn't harsh self-criticism or paralyzing analysis—it's freedom!

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." (Galatians 5:1)

Self-awareness isn't about focusing obsessively on your flaws or analyzing yourself into paralysis.

It's about gaining the clarity that sets you free to:

Lead from Your Authentic Design –

Freedom from trying to be someone you're not.

Freedom to leverage your actual strengths rather than pretending to have strengths you don't possess.

Freedom to structure your leadership around what energizes you rather than what depletes you.

Make Choices Aligned with Your Deepest Values –

Freedom from being tossed around by external pressures or others' expectations.

Freedom to evaluate opportunities against clear internal criteria.

Freedom to say no without guilt when something doesn't align with what matters most.

Serve from Your Areas of Greatest Impact –

Freedom from exhausting yourself trying to be all things to all people.

Freedom to focus on your distinctive contribution.

Freedom to partner with others whose strengths complement your limitations.

This freedom is the whole point!

Self-awareness liberates you from unconscious patterns, borrowed expectations, and misalignment between who you are and how you're leading.

It's not about feeling bad about yourself.

It's about seeing yourself clearly so you can lead from truth rather than illusion.

Women are strong, powerful, creative, and innovative!

And when they put their faith in the mix, they are unstoppable.

I recently returned from Kenya, where we held our latest She Steps Forward International Women's Conference.

Results:

Around 70 in attendance
Over 20 ready to sign up for the next group coaching cohort to grow their entrepreneurship skills

And I could not have done it without these two ladies — and several others who championed the mission of She Steps Forward International.

I am so proud of their drive, their willingness to show up, and their support of each other.

Brenda (in the middle) handled all the logistics for this year's conference, bringing together everything needed to make the day a reality.

And Sue, as the older sister, brought her wisdom, strength, and grace as always.

It's an honor to share the platform with them, and we're excited for what's building in Kenya.

But just like there, I'm championing women here in the States every day. If you're ready to step forward into your entrepreneurial calling — if you know God is calling you to come up higher in business, ministry, or nonprofit work — I'd love to walk alongside you!!

I encourage you to take one small step this week toward greater leadership self-knowledge.

Not a huge, overwhelming commitment – just one small, courageous step:

Schedule time for reflective journaling –
Block 20 minutes on your calendar to write about one significant leadership moment from the past week, exploring what it reveals about your patterns, values, or purpose.

Invite feedback from a trusted colleague –
Ask one person you respect: "What's one strength you see in my leadership? And what's one area where you think I have room to grow?"

Explore a quality assessment –
Take a personality or leadership assessment that might give you new insights into your design and patterns.

Sit quietly with God –
Create space to simply ask: "God, what do You want me to see about myself as a leader? What truth about my design or calling do You want to reveal?"

Review your calendar through a purpose lens –
Look at next week's commitments and ask: "How do these activities connect to my deeper calling? What might need to shift?"

Just one step.

That's all you need to begin.

Because remember, friend, knowing yourself to lead yourself isn't a one-time event – it's a lifelong journey of growing wisdom and impact!

Each step toward greater self-awareness becomes a foundation for more authentic, effective leadership that truly reflects your divine design and calling.

I want you to know that I'm cheering you on with my whole heart as you courageously pursue the self-knowledge that transforms leadership!

This work matters. You matter.
The unique contribution God has designed you to make through your leadership matters.
Yes, the journey requires courage.
Yes, there will be uncomfortable moments.

Yes, you'll encounter truths about yourself that challenge your self-perception.
