Good luck all the youth turkey hunters this weekend!!!

I'll be available 8-12 each morning Saturday & Sunday. Please call or text before coming to shop.

With it being Easter I have family obligations each afternoon. But still feel free to call or text me with questions on how to properly store bird until your able to bring it over or if I might have time in evening for a drop off.

Va turkey season is kicking off tomorrow with youth weekend, Propps Taxidermy is still accepting turkeys this spring. We will be open on weekends by appointment only the duration of turkey season for drop offs only. Feel free to text or call me if you have a bird you'd like to get mounted. I'll gladly skin it that day and give you all of the meat. DO NOT BREAST YOUR BIRDS!!!

Prices for the 2026 season-

Full body mount- $1200 any pose All bases extra cost
Fan & beard- $200
Fan & Beard & legs/spurs- $300
Fan & wing- $500
Cape & wings- $650 bases extra (shadow box $250)
Cape & only tail- $350 bases extra

Feather art frames -$1000 (limited numbers will be accepted)

Im still 12-14 months turnaround on all mounts with the exception of tail plaques. I'll do all tail plaques at same time at end of season once I order all bases.

Still full on waterfowl but accepting all turkey mounts spring of 2026! This is field prep for anyone bringing me a bird. Extra charges will apply if not skinned MY WAY or has been breasted.

Link on how to cape a bird properly, this mainly for out of state hunters or guys traveling. Or if need to freeze bird to drop off at later date, video shows how to remove tail to prevent being damaged when bagging up.

Another good weekend as always at the Virginia Taxidermy Association convention. Always a good time seeing old friends and making new ones sharing new and different techniques in the taxidermy field. This year I was asked to give a turkey seminar, and mounted a full strut bird infront of class full of people. Completed with 2 turkeys in the masters division I harvested last spring. Bringing home:

We WILL BE accepting turkeys this spring! Still plan on taking as many turkeys as we can this spring. Turkeys only. No waterfowl will be accepted during turkey season

Wait list for waterfowl is currently full, I will not be added anymore people to the 26/27 waitlist until after turkey season this spring.

I will be starting on '25 spring turkeys next week and trying to get them back to yall as soon as possible and to open up more freezer space. Did have close to 100 come in last spring so If you dropped off in May or later probably wont have yours done until june/ july.

***SHOPS FULL***

We are 100% full for the season for all waterfowl and turkeys. We will not be accepting anymore waterfowl until next summer/early fall, once freeze space opens back up. Will still be accepting turkeys this spring. We have a wait list started for people wanting to be first in line for the 26/27 waterfowl season. Please call shop to get on the list. Still have around 120 ducks from last season I'm working on before I start '25 turkeys.

Update for shop taking in birds this season (LIMITED SPACE)

I started a wait list from last season once I filled up. And have already started to call people to drop from the list. I have about 170 on it already and only trying to take in 30-40 each month to keep up with the turnaround time frame. If your already on my list I will call you once I get the room, in the order people are on the list to keep it fair.

This season currently only have room for 30 more waterfowl mount. My cut off is 200 waterfowl due to the high number of turkeys i got in this spring. I will continue the list for guys that wish to wait until next yr to drop off.

Thank you to all my loyal customers and referrals that allows me to stay this busy.

Few mounted and few finished up. Next week I'll be contacting the first round of people with turkeys ready. I'm almost done mounting last yrs april birds and hopefully be starting Mays birds beginning of June.

Having another record turkey season in the shop. Thank you to everyone that has referred me! I love mounting these big birds and will take as many as I can get. That being said I've be extremely busy skinning and not getting as many birds mounting as I'd like. Hoping to pick up production as the skinning is slowing down.

I did injure my knee turkey hunting 2 weeks ago, waiting for doc appt to tell me how bad and if need surgery. Until then I'm going to try and get as many done as i can hobbling around. Just heads up that birds dropped off later in the season last yr might be delayed couple weeks.
