When Your Accountant Hires an "Actor"... Things Get Interesting!

Lori Hull owner of Anchor Point Accounting LLC's presentation was one for the books and proved accounting CAN be entertaining!

With the help of Ebbie Jones, who fully embraced his role as "actor for hire," Lori walked us through three stages of business growth. Ebbie transformed into different business owners, complete with costume changes, oversized eyebrows, and a mustache that may deserve its own BNI membership. 😂

Scene 1: A cleaner who had just started his own business and was doing his own taxes. Lori explained that when you're just getting started and transactions are low, it can make sense to save money and do some things yourself. But as the business grows, working with a bookkeeping professional provides peace of mind, ensures things are done correctly, and frees up time to focus on growing the business.

Scene 2: A plumber two years into business who spent about four hours every week doing his own bookkeeping. Lori pointed out that if he's worth $600 a week in billable work, he's effectively "paying" over $1,200 a month in lost time to do bookkeeping he doesn't enjoy. A professional can often do it faster, better, and for less than the value of the time being lost.

Scene 3: An event planner five years into business who felt like he was paying too much in taxes and wanted someone to review previous years. Lori explained how having the right accounting professional can help identify opportunities, answer questions, and provide clarity around what's happening financially.

The biggest takeaway: Every business reaches a tipping point where outsourcing bookkeeping and accounting becomes more profitable than doing it yourself.

And while Ebbie was busy perfecting his costume changes and facial hair, Lori never missed a beat and kept the presentation moving right on script.

A great referral for Lori is someone who says:
"I feel like I'm paying too much in taxes."
"I hate doing my own bookkeeping."
"I have a bookkeeper, but I don't really know what they do or if they are helping me."
"I can't get ahold of my accountant."
"There has to be a better way to handle this."
